Week before Easter

My family will be visiting WDW Apr 2-Apr 7. People are telling me that is a very bad time to visit, because of the crowds. We're staying a AKL and we'll use the Early Hour. What wise-words do you guys have to manage our visit efficiently.

While the crowds will be up it is nowhere near summer time level. We were there at this time 2 years ago...we had no problems. Arrive early & use Fast Pass when needed. You shouldn't have too many problems. The weather is usually nice during the day, but a little cooler at night.

We were there the week before Easter last year and it was VERY crowded. I usually go in early/mid August and the week before Easter is MUCH busier. I am going the same dates as you are (exactly - and AKL, too) and I expect big crowds but I assume the parks will be open later and there will be 2 parades some nights, 2 Fantasmics, etc. One other thing, the weather last year at that time was AMAZING. REALLY nice. Beautiful sunshine every day and highs about 85 degrees with little humidity. It was paradise. I will be using FastPass and Early Entry to the max!
Have fun!

April 11th is Easter Sunday - you will be away from The World before it gets TOO busy - however, you will experience increased crowd levels. We have always visited over the Easter fortnight and although the parks are busier, the park hours are increased to compensate for this.

I am a teacher and we have gone twice during Easter time. We really didn't have any problems, but then again busy season is all I know. We made a plan of attack- deciding on which ride was the first priority. For ex. we went to MK and the plan was Buzz first. So we headed straight there and rode twice with just a ouple of minutes wait. When we used fast pass we used the Enchanted Tiki birds, Tom Sawyer island, and shopping/lunch as fillers. We never waited in line more than 15 minutes. It was wonderful! We got priority seatings for odd times, like lunch at Crystal Palace at 2:30- we had to wait about 20 minutes and we were toward the end so we got tons of time with the characters. Waiting on the porch at Crystal Palace with the castle view was not too rough! Plus we have 3 kids and the bathroom is right next door, so we checked in and took turns taking kids in to be changed/use the bathroom and wash up. Relax and enjoy! We will be back this Easter once again.

Based on my own personal experience as a cast member i would do whatever i could to stay away from the parks during easter time it is NUTS:hammer: However if thats the only time you can make it try and visit the magic kingdom during the middle of the week, dont even try getting into the MK on easter day. Save that for Epcot and MGM they are typically slower on Easter day.

YES! Because of school we'll be down there again for Easter. I've had a few bad experiences at Easter time. When you have to wait a half hour to use the rest room and the only place to get something to eat is the bakery it's not a pleasent site. Now I'm going to have nightmares about this again! Have a good trip!

I think busy time is all I know... I've been in Feb. during vacation... April during vacation... and in the summer time... because of school schedules, I've never been off-peak... but as I recall the crowds were approximately the same... take advantage of the early entry days in the parks if you're an early riser... we've always enjoyed that time of the day best. ...and you're going to be at Disney... so that's a good thing no matter when! :sohappy: yeah... I'd stay away from the MK on Easter day itself. I remember that there was a treat hung on each door Easter morning. :)
