I've seen many pictures of weddings at MK and over at the wedding pavillion...But, Has anyone done different? Like have the wedding at Epcot, DHS or AK?

Never happen to me personally, but I have seen at least five wedding receptions in Epcot. One was on the island in front of Italy, and the others were over in front of France in that lower level off the main walkway. That seems to be a popular spot. :)

I've videotaped weddings at Seabreeze Pointe (Boardwalk), the Gazebo at Yacht Club, and recently a reception in the VIP lounge of The Seas (along with the Wedding Pavilion/Grand Floridian)

Do "other" other parks count? As in USF? That's where I got married (actually Islands of Adventure). I know it seems like sacriledge on a Disney board ;)

The characters are cast members. The best man and maid of honor were with us :)

It was a great spot and they roped off a nice big area for us and our friends who came (about 25 of us). It was neat to see the picture from the opposite side as literally hundreds gathered around to watch and cheer! As much of a Disney nut as I am, I am even more so a comic book nut.....so it was a comic geeks dream come true! And to answer what is usually the next question, I did not have to get my wife there via gunpoint.....but needless to say she is quite the trooper!

To be honest, I can't say I've seen an actual wedding inside any of the parks, but I've seen plenty of receptions inside EPCOT.

My wedding ceremony was held in EPCOT, in Italy on the Isola. It was GREAT! As nice as the Wedding Pavilion is I wanted to get married in a park. Magic Kingdom was just way too much money! But EPCOT was really pretty and perfect! We got some great pictures!

how much does it cost for one to reserve a park for a wedding?

Well, you can not "reserve a park". In 2004 (when I was looking) you could get married in front of Cinderella castle. This would include CMs to rope of a small area in front of the castle for you to have your ceremony and take some pictures. I believe you had an hour or less.
This (no joke, really) in 2004 started at $42,000.

There are packages for the Wedding Pavilion that are more around $5000

I got married in 2006, and I can't remember the exact total but I think it was cheaper to get married in EPCOT then it was to get married at the Wedding Pavilion. We had the ceremeony at 9am before World Showcase opened. We didn't have to pay extra to keep cast memebers there like you have to do in Magic Kingdom. If I'm not mistaken to get married at Magic Kingdom you have to do it after park hours.

Well to answer your questions......no, we did not have to take out a second mortgage to pull this off and we a far from being in the position to rent out a whole park--lol. This is how it went down (trying to make a long story short as possible....)

We knew we wanted to go away for our wedding and looked at many places like Sandals resorts, Cazumel, Turks and Caicos etc..... And of course we thought of WDW as well.... Now my wife and I are pretty big Disney nuts, but in 2002 (when we got married) we weren't nearly the dis-crazed people we are now. But both of us did have a great love for Disney from childhood and beyond.

Anyway, as we were looking at options (fantasizing too) on how to have a special/unique/memorable wedding, be it at Disney with characters, or the perfect beach setting etc., we honestly, only jokingly, said "Wouldn't it be fun to have it at Islands of Adventure with Spidey and the gang." Me being (obvioulsy) the huge comic book geek that I am immeditaly drifted off into fantasyland thinking how cool it would be....but of course I snapped back to reality saying "Come on now, this is my wedding we're talking about here--not gonna happen".

Well a few days later my wife called me at work and said "Guess who I just got off the phone with???--Universal Studios!!!" And it took off from there........ (SIDE NOTE: Big props to my wife---the coolest ever for not only going along with this but basically planning the whole thing with them)

Let me just say the staff at USF/IOA were AWESOME to us! They got so excited for this! I'm sure some of it had to do with the fact that they realized that Disney, not USF is a much more common and desired place for a dream wedding. Therefore I think they saw this opportunity to have some fun with this and get some good PR. They did ask us if we would mind pictures etc. for promotion being taken, and if the local news could cover. We were like "SURE!!!" (actually local news did not come).

Now the story is getting longer than I planned so let me sum up a few things to get more to the point of the questions:

We all stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (about 20 of us).
--They bussed us over into a private entrance and went to a VIP lounge where we waited and had drinks until just before the 3PM wedding.
--They then escorted us to the spot they had roped off by the lagoon just under the Hulk Coaster.
--The Heroes arrived and we had the ceremony and then just basically played with them and took pictures with them (about 30 minutes in all) as a large crowd watched and cheered!
--And then YES they took our whole party right on to the HULK Coaster for a ride!!!

And here is the real amazing part--they charged us NOTHING extra for anything above!!! ZERO!
--Nothing to bus us over and take us around like we were celebreties
--Nothing for the characters (who seemed to have as much fun as we did throughout this)
--Nothing for a guy (sort of like their version of Photopass) to take photos
--They even let us use the Admiral's Club (the lounge above Confisco's Grille--a park restaurant) for a reception, again charging us nothing for the place, while we paid for the food and beverages.

I don't know if USF/IOA has ever done something like this again or if they would or for how much etc.....but I will say that I am SO glad they did it for us. It was an absolute BLAST!!!!!!

So that's the story...sorry it was so long. :)

I also must add that I know a lot of debate goes on about USF vs. WDW. I can certainly understand the passion for both places and I will admit that NOBODY beats Disney in more ways than I can count. But needless to say Islands of Adventure will always hold a special place in our hearts!!!!!
