My fiance and I are getting married at the end of September in Florida, so my mum and dad we're going to treat us to a night's stay in a hotel of our choice, so what would you recommend for a one of visit?

really it depends, each hotel has a theme. so if you guys want a hawaiian thing, take the polynesian, if maybe one of you is a vet by any chance, go with animal kingdom lodge, but the most romantic in my opinion is the grand floridian

OK then...depending on your taste, I agree with what steviej said,
Grand Floridian is possibly most romantic.
Polynesian has the nice south pacific feel,
Animal Kingdom and Wildnerness Lodge both have a nice exotic feel.
Yacht and Beach have a more airy, casual feel but are also nice.

When making reservations, be sure that you mention this is a honeymoon visit...also remind them at check-in. One other thing to consider is to do concierge for the one night.

Congrats and good luck.

Edit: If you're coming all the way over....would you be staying for only one night? Are you not planning on visiting any of the WDW parks? Or is this one night in the special hotel followed by extended stay elsewhere?

I'm going to disagree with Grand Floridian being most romantic. I think it's the most "stuffy". The Polynesian, I think, is the most romantic and the best location for a honeymoon.

We're actually staying in a villa. We have a 14 day pass to the parks so the hotel is just for a treat. This may sound out but what is the best at night? Do any have specific places that you can take a nice walk. The idea we had was that we were going to go to pleasure island but by that time it'll be closed down.

Again, all are a bit different, but there are small clubs at all of the ones mentioned.

The Poly is very nice to walk around at night, you have the palms and bamboo swaying, tiki torches and polynesian music throughout the grounds.
There is a nice beach area with hammocks, where you can sit (or lay) with a nice adult beverage and look across the lagoon at the MK, watch the fireworks from there, see the lagoon water parade.

You can also walk from Poly to the GF easily for a visit or a beverage, or visit a restaurant there (Narcoossee's or Citrico's) then walk back.

It's easy to hop on the monorail for just a nice cruise around the loop.

So has anyone stayed in the Caribbean Beach resort? And just a question, are any of the parks icons (SE, Mickey's Hat etc.) visible from here?

If that was your original plan, you may want to consider the Yacht and Beach Club. They're within walking distance to World Showcase and The Boardwalk, which has evening entertainment. Or, for that matter, try The Boardwalk Inn. Just a thought...

Is there a way of selecting the Contemporary tower when booking online? I'ts just when I look at it, it says graden wing and garden view. Would it be the garden view option for in the tower?

Nooooooooooo.

Poly all the way. Have stayed at both. And visited most all of the other deluxe and moderates. There really is nothing more romantic than the Poly. Especially if you can swing concierge and/or lagoon view. Even for just one night. You CANNOT go wrong with this choice.
