Actually blue was the original sign of purity and women used to wear blue dresses...lots of women still choose to wear white and I really don't think it matters if that's what you want to do.

To the OP, I wouldn't worry about catching a glimpse fo the gown. It's the reaction you have when you see the dress ON her that matters. Hopefully you'll cry like a baby like my husband did! :D

And whomever said women shouldn't be able to wear white - we are no longer in the dark ages! It's custom to wear white and most women dream their whole lives about wearing THE white dress on her wedding day. I'm glad we live in a world today where most people aren't so uptight about things like that! Especially considering most women today are probably living with their fiancee before the wedding anyway.

Also - I was soooo relaxed on our wedding day! I was nowhere near stressed! You've probably seen too many bridezilla commercials. I'm sure women like that do exist but most women aren't like that on their wedding day!
