I don´t know how it is for college program but for us, internationals, there was time after the presentation and before your interview, to fill the application form. I didn´t have it before going to the presentation, so I couldn´t fill it before. :animwink:

You're supposed to fill out an application beforehand, but they will allow you to fill out an application at the presentation.

Recruiters seem to prefer you having filled it out beforehand.

Also, the website does not thoroughly explain what exactly the college program is, please someone tell me?!?!?!

There's three parts....

LIVING: You get to live in Vista Way or Chatham. It's all cool, but each has it's own disadvantages. You'll live on your own and do laundry in machine that cost a $1 a load. You'll end up learning how to cook, spend money wisely, and have fun in the complex. You may end up liking or hating your roommates it all depends on how things work out. Apts house either 3 (?) or 5 people. Fights may arise but ususally work themselves out (eg. AC or cleaning).

LEARNING: There's the 7 core business seminars. It's pretty cool and you learn transferrable skills. If you heard of the degrees, this is the way to get them. Take the 7 classes plus a couple of EZ electives and you're all set! There's others just ask-but I'm sure they're all good.

EARNING: Heck you barely get paid simply put. BUT the experience far outweighs the mone involved!! I would guess work is included in this but it varies from person to person. All job are what YOU make of it. I've had cast members who loved working in conventions and there were others who absolutely detested it. So it varies per person.

If you're interested in what the apts look like, the check in sheet, the VW complex, and bus schedules have a look at my page...

Memories are the best part of this job! I've truely met people from ALL over the world. Especially after working in Epcot. 11 countries PLUS everyone from the old Mill Vill! What an experience!!! By all means apply if you're into Disney!

College Program was the best thing that has happened to me in my life...straight up.

Now...each persons experience is unique. You'll have to experience it to judge it. Some hate it...most love it.

Im going full time next year...so that shows what it did for me :)

Email any alumni on a one on one basis and youll get the real stories and true opionions from their individual perspective.

What are the chances of myself being accepted?

Does College GPA affect anything, what pulls the most weight in the process of them either accepting you or not?

If you have the Disney spirit, chances of getting in are pretty good. Go in with an open mind and show them that you're truely interested in working in the program. Prove to them that your in it for the experience and not for all the parties and money. Go in Disney attire and that'll help out too :D. Finally you're GPA has to be over 3.0 in school before you can join the program.

They may have changed it since 2000, but I had issues with the GPA thing. So I kinda know about it. :lookaroun  They mention that you need to be in "good standing" with your school so a 3.0 is the base percentage.

I've never heard of the 3.0 thing. All I've seen on the site and discussions with recruiters and college program people is that you must be in good standing with your school.

Most schools around here means not being on academic probation or having at least a 2.0 GPA.

I am with Brent... Good academic standing usually means 2.0 or better not 3.0 or better.

If you want to talk to anyone else about the program feel free to PM or IM me ... I attended Fall Advantage 2001 and am also a campus rep. :)

We have quite a few of us around here lol.
