The time lapse does show that they do shut some of the lights off (SE and the Epcot sign) during the early morning hours from about 1am to 6am. Good way to save money, I suppose, since not many guests are up at that time to look at the park. The old Disney webcams always stopped taking pics after the parks closed. Anyone know if they've always done this (turn off the lights) or if its more recent policy. My folks have a picture (from 1972) of my brother looking at MK from a room at the Contemporary in the middle of the night and all the lights were on.

The removal of the webcams, I would think, would have more to do with Disney not wanting their competitors to know the volume of people at their parks.

I got several webcams free-after-rebate at various office supply stores (Office Max, Office Depot, Staples) and found some great software for $12 that allows you to take snap shots or vid clips at any given interval, post them to webpages via FTP and also set a sensitivity to allow captures when it senses movement. I somehow think Disney could afford an old Pentium machine, free webcam and $12 software.
