Weather in May?

Hi all,

Has anyone been to WDW in May? What will the weather be like in the evening and during the day?

We've been a few years during the first week of May for the race and we've averaged hot afternoons, warm evenings, and the near daily pop up shower. It was chilly one race morning but I attributed that to the rain as I remember it heating up in the afternoon.

Much less rain than in June-September, though. However, that can have an unexpected side effect that it is hotter, longer, as I've seen many days during my 4 May trips where it actually doesn't rain and is instead 90 degrees from noon until about 6 pm. Depending on when you go in the month, the mugginess may or may not have arrived yet. May is really the shift from spring (mid 80s, sporadic rain) to summer (low 90s, rain every afternoon) in Orlando.

We were there May 4-10, 2014. The weather was very warm (80s, I believe) and beautiful. Although there were a couple of brief showers, they were so brief that we missed them completely (while inside attractions -- we'd notice when we came out that everything was wet outdoors, but the rain had stopped). We were comfortable in shorts and T-shirts all day, every day, including in the evening.

We have been the second week in May a few times. It is our favorite time to go. The weather is great, highs in the 80's with very little rain. Enjoy your trip!!

May is one of my favorite months here, weather is pretty much described above. Days are usually pretty warm, humidity isn't bad and can be some showers in the afternoon. Evening and night time are comfortable

We usually go in early May, and have had anywhere from 70's to 90's. It's usually beautiful! Last year we had 2 days of full rain, and that chilled things out a little bit. Most of the week was really nice weather-wise.

Weather is great in May. Near perfect. Hot but most times shade will cool you down. Warm evenings but nice. You won't need a sweatshirt the whole time your there except if AC makes you cold.

When people are talking about rain in May, it's not real rain. It's a shower here and there if that.
We went the first week of May for 7 years straight starting in 2005. That entire time I think there was 45 minutes of rain total (that's all 7 weeks combined). We were lucky enough to have 30 of those 45 minutes be one year while we were in HoP.

We've gone in September the last 3 years. Now that's RAIN. The kind of rain that will change your plans. Changed our plans so much that we're back to going in May going forward.

Don't worry about rain in May : ) .

Warm, muggy, and warm. But NOT like July and August. Normal would be mid to upper 80s with maybe 70s at night. We were there over Memorial Day weekend last year and it was warm during the day but not still hot and muggy at night like it is during July and August and September. But do bring ponchos/raincoats as it may rain, but not nearly like the truly hot summer months of July, August and September. And plenty of sunscreen.
