Weather in May - Packing

I've read that May usually offers nice summer weather in Orlando, however I'm uncertain of what I should pack.

We are going with our 4 year old boy - should I pack jeans and hoodies just in case in gets cold?

Any idea whether late June / early July is more like "unbelievably why did I come hot" or "just hot"?
It all depends on what sets you off temp wise. It is not necessarily the temp but the humidity. Humidity prevents your sweat from evaporating for cooling. you can also dehydrate yourself which is far more dangerous (heat exhaustion or worse heat stroke). The one thing not many people think about is heat rash/chafing in the wrong places. Once it sets in, there is no stopping it and it can ruin a trip. Prepare for that according to prevent it. We simply avoid being in the dead of the heat in the mid-afternoon. That time is for resort pools and nap if anyone ever lets me take one.

All of this about June-July. Yes, it's hot. I mean in the upper 80s, low 90s hot. And as @BigRedDad stated, incredibly humid. Humidity levels start to increase late April, early May. And the summers in Florida get hotter each year...and seem to start earlier too.

Central Florida isn't like the coastal areas...no nice sea breezes. It is probably the most humid region in the state. Get to the parks early and return to your hotel room shortly after lunch. Return around 4-5, which means you will probably miss most of the afternoon thunderstorms...and the even stickier humidity that follows.

I laughed when someone recommended bringing a jacket, because it might be cool in the evening. I've lived in Florida 50 years and I'd LOVE for it to be cool in the evening in May. Expect temperatures in the 80s at night.

Florida is semi-tropical. And WDW was built in the swampy middle.
