Weather in March

Hi everyone

I'm new on here and have been reading all your posts with interest as I'm very excited because we're booked to go to DLP in the last week in March. :sohappy:

We've booked through a travel agent who arranged for us to stay in the Hotel Cheyenne with our 2 daughters. They knew the ages of my daughters when they booked this hotel and I didn't read about the age thing for the top bunk (i.e. not suitable for people under 6 years) until after I'd booked. My eldest daughter is 5 and has slept in a top bunk bed with no problems - she's quite "grown up" for her age, i.e. 5 going on stroppy teenager of 15. Does anyone know how strict they are about the age thing and whether we'd get turned away because my daughter is under 6? If we are, would we be allocated a room in a different hotel?

Also, although I know the weather is probably similar to over here, will we need to take loads of wet weather gear? How much time will we actually have to spend outside? Are most of the attractions indoors? Do the parades still take place if its raining and if so does the rain put much of a dampner on things (sorry for the pun!)? Does anyone know if they have the fireworks in March or are they only in the summer and around bonfire night time?

Finally - sorry to ask so many things - as we're only there for two days and probably won't have time to do everything which ride/attraction would you say is your number one absolutely must see/do for a 4 year old and a 5 year old - and a rather keen 37 year old and 42 year old for that matter. I know everyone probably has their own personal favourite but I thought I might get a consensus of opinion if I asked on here.

I'd better stop now :zipit: - thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for that info. I thought leaving our trip to the last week in March would mean the weather had warmed up a bit but I guess you never can tell. Although it would probably be pretty if it snowed I hope it's doesn't coz my youngest hates being cold - she's a bit of a wimp!! Maybe there'll be unseasonally warm weather this year - I know on the day we got married in March 1999 it was really hot and that was in rainy Wales!

Hi and welcome to France!

Why not wait till April ? Buzz, their new attraction is opening then
Unless you can't make it then

Disneyland Park is pretty well designed for cold or rainy weather.
The 'must see' attractions are indoors and heated : Pirates of the Carribean, Phantom Manor, It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight... and there are also two indoor 'arcades' on each side of Main Street USA directly connected to the stores and restaurants.

Anyway I think coasters are fun to ride when it's freezing or even snowing lol

Don't forget to get FastPasses for Peter Pan's Flight and Big Thunder Mountain Fastpasses as soon as you can! They're very very popular with families and are always overcrowded...

plus don't miss the Lion King show (on until 17th March)

The best part of the park for young kids is Fantasyland, but they will also appreciate Orbitron in Discoveryland or the Robinson's Tree area in Adventureland even if it's not quite as fun being outside when it's very cold...

March can sometimes have very sunny days though.

Thanks for your reply - very useful. Will definitely be getting the Fast Pass as everyone I've spoken to and everything I've read recommends it. Unfortunately trip is already booked for end of March so we'll miss the new Buzz attraction and the Lion King show - looks like I picked the worst week. Never mind I'm sure we'll have loads to keep us busy and my girls out of trouble!
Just wish we were going for longer now rather than a couple of days.

Just returned from DLP- Weather was great! Lovely clear blue skies the entire time, sun out shining, no rain but very cold so wrap up warm and you should be fine! Have fun, we certainly did!
