I tried searching this topic and came up with nothing. I am waiting for Connor to come on and show me where this thread is so bring it on. But just in case I am not wrong can someone please tell me what the weather is like in early January? We made a trip two Decembers ago for Christmas but all I can remember is the first day was freezing! We are looking at going again this January. I want to avoid the the blistering heat but dont want to be there when there is frost on the rides, due to the fact that i have small children. Any help would be appreciated!

Variable Temps

For several years now I have gone to Disney in the Jan/Feb months. The temperatures can be quite variable but are generally in the 68-73 range for highs during the day and 42-45 lows at night. That said you would want to have a little more cover on a night. Especially if there is a breeze which usually there is.

IN 2004 I was there Jan 4-7. The temperatures held about the way I've described except for Jan 6. That morning it was pleasant but that afternoon a cold front quickly moved in and the temp dropped about 20 degrees in less than an hour. Boy did Disney react quickly and pull out all the sweaters and jackets for any store that had apparel and put them out for sale. It dropped to 39 that night and there was a sever weather advisory issued. Not living in Florida I found that a little hard to qualify as sever but then there are $$$ riding on the citrus crops so I can see that.

So my best advise it to at least have a light coat, jacket, etc. to fall back on for the nights and hope you don't need it during the day.

Indeed, I love it when the Disney gift shops break out the heavy coats and other "winter" gear. Lots of people are just looking for the excuse to buy a Mickey leather jacket for $250.00!
