Weather in December

We will be visiting WDW 12/1 to 12/6. We usually visit in October so this will be the first time we are in Orlando in December. Does anyone have any advise on the weather at that time of year? I usually try to minimize clothes for packing, but I have no idea what kind of clothes we will need. Are sweatshirts enough, or will we need jackets?
Any info is appreciated!!!!

We'll be heading down on 12/1 also. In the past I have expereinced a variety of weather conditions this time of year. This may not be much help but bring a little of everything. Shorts for the comfortable afternoons. Long pants for the evening cuz it gets cool. The temps in Orlando right now are looking like mid 70's to low 80's during the day and in the 50's at night. I usually bring a sweatshirt and a light jacket and layer should it get too cold. Just keep one thing in mind. Disney can always sell you a warmer sweatshirt or jacket or a cool t-shirt should you not have the right clothing. I'm coming from New England so I generally look like the Tourist in Florida in December - I wear SHORTS no matter how cool the day is!!! Hope this helps and hey, I'll see ya down there!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Check the forecast before you leave. In the past years I've been there in December, the weather has been great - no need for sweatshirts/jackets during the day. A light jacket or sweater at night is a good idea, as it will get cooler.

The biggest determining factor is really where you're coming from. As the 2 others here have stated, for most tourists sweatshirts and light jackets are enough. I used to live in Florida. In December 70s in the day and 50's at night are the norm. However, it is not out of the question to have it hit the high 30s at night.

If you are traveling from a snow and ice area, you will be comfortable in shorts and tees during the day, long pants and sweatshirts at night. People from warmer climates will need the jackets.

Thanks for all the info! I'll be coming from New England also (RI). With the weather we've been having already this year, 70's during the day will be wonderful!!

I second that emotion (as I sit looking out my office window in Boston at the first flakes of snow for the season.)

I am not the best person to talk about the weather in December, it always seems freezing to me! But it rarely rains, so that's a good point. And the Christmas stuff.... SOOOOOO COOL!!!! :xmas:

Are you going to our meet, on Dec 4th/5th?

Some of us think it is cold at night!

Maybe this Jersey girl has been living in the southeast too long! I was there Nov 4th-7th. One night we stayed for the 11pm showing of Spectromagic and we were wearing jeans and sweatshirts and we were freezing!!! Also wore a light sweatshirt in the mornings with shorts...it was chilly in the am! Last year I was there in Dec wearing jeans all day and adding a fleece jacket and light gloves in the evenings. If you have young kids do yourself a favor and pack gloves...they can be hard to find in the parks for the really little ones and they are expensive. They can save you from a lot of whining!!

Have fun! Early Dec is my favorite time to visit!
