A lot of dishwashing of plates, cups, etc. could be avoided if she just used paper plates, etc. for the short time they're down there! ;)
We use paper plates at least once/day, but there are bowls, cutting boards, serving platters, cutlery, grilling utensils, cups, and dog dishes throughout the day.

It’s like “tiny house” living, you have to clean up as you go, as there is nowhere to stack dirty dishes. Wash them, dry them, and immediately put them back in the cupboard.

Thank you for the warning for dh and I may never leave both boys home alone together. For that I think you're entitled to an extra week of vacation
They’re full grown adults - 26 and 27. For years I was nagging them to move out. Then COVID came, house prices and rents doubled, and now I think they’d be nuts to move.

They’ve become more helpful lately and less annoying, so there is that.

This trip is already going to run 6 weeks. Doesn’t mean Mike isn’t online checking out 3 or 4 day possibilities on the way home. I think we’re dumping the trailer in Pigeon Forge again. We’ll probably head back there over the Christmas holidays. (Unless we score a work gig before spring.)

I went to the front desk to ask about the fitness centre, but forgot to inquire about the signs.

Unfortunately the fitness centre has not been rebuilt since Irma. Apparently it’s next on the agenda. I’ve seen videos of what it used to be like pre-hurricane, and it was better than decent. Oh well.

The park is now empty, and it is DIVINE! We briefly thought about asking to relocate sites, but now that the hoards have departed, it turns out that we absolutely have one of the better sites, despite being on the road that leads to the boat ramp.

They’re swapping out all of the picnic tables for brand new ones. The older ones were painted a pretty aqua blue, the new ones are plain wood. I mean they’re new, but not as attractive.

Doesn’t matter to us, we have yet to dine outdoors. It’s just too hot this week. Looks like we’re finally going to see some temps in the 80’s. High-80’s, but my point stands.

Forgot to mention, Mike cut his finger yesterday. Stupid Cutco knives. 🤦🏻‍♀️

He probably needed a stitch. If he gets blood on my bed linen again, he’s going to need a whole lot of them.

And y’all were worried about me needing to be bubble wrapped.

Somebody needs to remind him that I cannot drive that truck.

Hope Mike will be o.k. He's had a few mishaps on this vacation. It's understandable in that he's out of his regular element, being on the road and not living in his home. Whenever I go on vacation, I always get bruises, etc., because I'm just disoriented in new surroundings. I'm kind of a basket case, walking into walls, tripping over things, dropping stuff, etc. :hilarious: (I really should never leave home!) :joyfull:

We had our first dose of someone being unpleasant. We drove into Marathon for groceries, but decided to stop at a local pub for drinks and apps.

We went to the Sunset Grill, with Daisy in her backpack carrier. I let the fellow at the check in stand know that we had a small pup in the backpack, and that we wouldn’t be taking her out.

He asked if she was a service dog and I truthfully replied no. He said - sure she is, and invited me to look around and decide where we wanted to sit. I chose a nice table close to the outer railing. The place was 3/4 empty.

I went back to get Mike and Daisy, and the hostess grabbed menus and cutlery and led us to the table. She spied Daisy, oohed and ahhed and asked if she could pet her. No problem.

(Daisy has not made a peep the whole time, nor did she for the next hour while we did errands. She never does when she’s in there.)

A few minutes later the server comes over and spotted Daisy and asked if the hostess knew we had a dog. I replied yes, and that the greeter did too. Then she got quite snotty. Keep in mind, pup is on the floor, completely zipped in, not making a sound.

Despite there being a small (leashed) Pekingese sitting wide out in the open three tables over, she pointed to the lower level (where there is no thatched roof) and said that’s where we were actually supposed to be.

She was then annoyed that we didn’t know what we wanted to drink and said she’d be back.

Mike is now miffed and doesn’t really want to stay. “We’ll stay if you want to.” Well you know me, I’m only having water (with lemon or lime, you choose), so I certainly don’t care.

Both the hostess and the guy at the check in stand saw us leaving within 5 mins of having been seated, and asked if everything was okay.

I very politely replied that the server had a problem with our dog and had made us feel most unwelcome … literally as dude walks by carrying his Pekingese pup in his arms. They offered us a different server, but Mike’s back was already up.

I will update BringFido that Sunset Grill is hit and miss regarding dog friendliness, as we used that app for recommendations.

Anyway, pics from the place where we did not eat or drink. 😂
