I don't know if this has been posted about (a did a quick search and found nothing, but if it has been I apologize!) but we can now modify dining reservations on the MDE website rather than having to cancel them and creating a new one!

This is great news. We used the app to cancel a character breakfast a few weeks ago, but it did seems strange that you still had to call to make/break regular sit-down meals.

The app is such an amazing tool. We used it so much on our trip earlier this month. Really helped us to manage our days and stay flexible.

Don't say that too loud.
Some folks don't like the App because it's part of the Magic Band project...

for the record, I love the Magic Band concept and I love the App and FP+.

Like most things, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Lots of folks around here dislike it for valid reasons in my opinion but sometimes they fail to mention how much convenience it can add in certain circumstances.

Personally I would love a feature where you can link a credit card to your band via the app so you can pay for stuff as if you were a resort guest. I'm not really sure why that isn't part of the app already but maybe it's something they've been working on. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Yeah I don't see why you couldn't do that. It makes perfect sense.

I once had a dinner reservation at Disney for 4 people at 5:30 p.m., I had to call in order to "add" an additional person and was told that they couldn't accommodate a party of 5 at that time, and the next available time was 7:30 p.m. So I'm wondering if you now use the app to make a change in party size if they'd be able to handle it? In my case, I elected not to add a fifth person since part of my group where seniors who didn't want to be driving home too late. Interestingly, when we got to the restaurant there seemed to be lots of available tables and a fifth chair could have been put at our table. It was a little frustrating.

Whenever one of my relieves with AP's want to join a dinner reservation I show up an hour early with them with me and go I'm so and so I have a reservation ____ time for 4 I need a chair pulled up for my cousin, *points* . and every time I've done this it works. My cousins are doctors and don't know if they can ever join us, until that day. So this has worked I hope I don't get bad luck next time in March!

My advice is just show up when you are adding 1 to your reservation

In my experience, with a local friend who sometimes is able to join us at Disney restaurants when work permits, this generally works. Usually they are accommodating if you need to add another person last minute. I think there is more leeway in terms of seating at the restaurants than the reservation system would indicate.

because then you would have to be pre-screened(check to see if balance remains) and they run one big transaction at the end of the day (per transaction charge minimization) but if it bounces at the end of the day, they dont have a room to come to you to collect... they have you and your cc held 'hostage' since you have already have charges pending - room svc, damages to room, incidentals...

Yeah but there must be a way around that. Maybe if you assign a credit card to your band and are not staying on property it could charge your card as you make purchases rather than one big transaction at the end of the day. I'm no expert on those sorts of things but I'm rather sure there would be some method to make it happen.

My last trip to Orlando I went to WDW, Universal, Legoland, and several smaller attractions. After spending 8 days at Disney I was somewhat annoyed when I went to the other parks and had to have different cards for this and that. At uni I had the room key, the entrance ticket, the express pass ticket, their equivalent of photopass ticket, and of course at least 1 credit card. The convenience of being able to leave my wallet and everything in the room safe and have a single 'thing' that doe sit all is fantastic.

This is a big plus for MDE, having to call to cancel a reservation was painful

Sorry that's BRAVO-SIERRA, If you have an annual pass you need your Drivers License, AP and Magic Band if you want to take advantage of the discounts. Recently (December 2015) they have been accepting the information on the 'affiliations' section of MDE app but instead of the the MB being the ONLY thing you need you still need to carry all the crap you would carry at any other park in Orlando plus a nice sweaty piece of plastic on your wrist.

Not sure @gsimpson stated they were an AP holder though.

I had this option a few weeks ago, but when I clicked on change it kept throwing errors.

I understand trying to minimize the per transaction fees but I'm going to use my card no matter what. Not really minimizing it at all.
