May 13 - The Imagineering Jam by @Garfield Fan
The Imagineering Jam is inspired by game jams. For those who aren’t familiar with them, game jams are exercises in game design with limitations which usually act as competitions where the public votes for their favorite game. Now instead of a video game it's your Imagineering projects!
May 28 - Legacies: 20 Years of Armchair Imagineering
Legacies: 20 Years of Armchair Imagineering is a biweekly armchair imagineering paper that celebrates not only the past but the future of these forums. Every newsletter will be different rather it be based on reflections of classic armchair imagineering projects or interviews with the armchair imagineers of today on their current and most exciting projects. On top that expect fun bonuses like trivia, crosswords, word searches, and much more!
May 28 - Platinum Weekends: Where in the World?
A returning favorite, Where in the World, challenges players to guess where in the theme park world an image was taken. Every day of the weekend three images are posted which have been edited in a way to make players really use that noggin of theirs to figure out the locations. Players are asked to type their answers into a spoiler box to keep their guesses revealed from other players of the game. The player with the most right answers from that weekend will be crowned that weekend’s winner and will have a shot at being the host for next weekend’s game.
May 28 - So, You Want to be an Imagineer Season 19: The Madcap Circus by @TheOriginalTiki
Hurr-ay, Hurr-ay, Hurr-ay to the world famous MADCAP CIRCUS. But, this isn't just any circus. This is a circus where creativity runs WiLd. Anything can happen and probably will. See the beautiful and dangerous creatures of Tarrant Ramn's Magnificent Menagerie, the astonishing psychic abilities of Grogu The Great, and so much more. Bringing back some favorite elements from seasons past, this round of So, You Want to be an Imagineer promises to bring the game into the next decade and usher it towards its milestone 20th installment. This is no warm-up. While season 20 will no doubt be a major event when it eventually hits, MADCAP CIRCUS promises some of the most wacky, surprising, and engaging projects in the history of the game. June 2 - One Sentence: Platinum Edition - A 20th Anniversary Special by @tcool123
One Sentence: Platinum Edition - A 20th Anniversary Special is the return of the long running and forum favorite competition. Like usual a round will last a few days at a time and players have a limit of two sentences and an image to perfectly encapture each round’s prompt. The twist for this edition? Well get ready for all new REDUX challenges seeing classic challenges being brought back to help inspire even more amazing pitches!
July 17 - It Could Always Be Worse by @MickeyWaffleCo.
It Could Always Be Worse combines the fun of team and solo Armchair Imagineering with some wild and wacky prompts! With last-minute challenges, a multiversical storyline, and familiar Guest Judges, this slower-paced competition has something for every Imagineer to enjoy!
August 13 - Platinum Weekends: Whose Park is it Anyway? by @tcool123
Returning from a long hiatus is the wild and always fun Whose Park it it Anyway? This event is a riff on the popular Whose Line is it Anyway TV show, and allows all players to flex their comedic skills. Every day of the weekend a new game appears like Scenes from a Hat, Questions Only, Meme It, World’s Worst, and many more fun games. [MORE INFORMATION HERE]
August 31 - The Imaginarium by @tcool123
After a decade since its inception, The Imaginarium returns to the forums in a new and exciting way. This competition aims to encourage player’s imagination with fun and unique prompts while handing eliminations to the players. Yes you read that right, the players will control who will be eliminated every challenge until a winner is crowned. In the end @Disney Dad 3000 won the competition thanks to his unique concept of a steampunk western land for Phantasialand in Europe [MORE INFORMATION HERE]
October 24 - 2021 Imagineering Hall of Fame presented by @spacemt354
An annual tradition were armchair imagineers from the forum are able to run for the honor of entering the Imagineering Hall of Fame. The inductees for this year include @Tegan pilots a chicken , @MickeyWaffleCo. , @Mickeynerd17 , @ThemeParkPriest , @Sharon&Susan , @DashHaber , @Homemade Imagineering , @WED99 , @Honey Bee (Rebooted) . Congratulations to all of them!
November 7 - The Proposal: Dream Wedding by @NateD1226
Are you a bride or a bridezilla? Partake in the next installment of @NateD1226 's exciting The Proposal. For every day of The Proposals new and exciting prompts will be posted that encourage a more lenient playstyle, and allows for your creativity to be utilized in a more laxed setting than an Imagineering competition. November 7 - 2021 Imagineering Awards presented by @JokersWild and @PerGron
A celebration of all of the community’s achievements come together to nominate and vote on your favorite competitions, projects, threads, armchair imagineers all from this amazing year! Members of the board are eligible to nominate what they believe should win the awards for 2021. The nomination period is from November 7th to the 21st. The winners will be revealed in a special award show hosted by none other than @JokersWild and @PerGron! [MORE INFORMATION HERE]
November 11 - One Sentence Competition - The Disney Decade by @spacemt354
One Sentence - The Disney Decade is the continuation of the long running and forum favorite competition. Like usual a round will last a few days at a time and players have a limit of two sentences and an image to perfectly capture each round’s prompt. The twist for this edition? Well the entire competition is set in the fabled Disney Decade where park expansion was at all time high, and a collaboration with The Proposal: Dream Wedding by @NateD1226 !
November 18 - WDWMagic Imagineering Forum 2022 Logo Competition presented by @MickeyWaffleCo.
Get those pencils, pens and paper ready because returning later this year is the WDWMagic Imagineering Forum Logo Competition. In this annual competition where imagineers are tasked with creating a logo to be used forum wide throughout 2022. @MickeyWaffleCo. won the popular vote with his first submission allowing for that logo to be used throughout 2022. December 11th - One Word Competition by @Outbound
. One Sentence Competition's newly discovered cousin! One Word Competition was a fun and great inclusion into the Armchair Imagineering world with it’s quick paced gameplay. The game lasted a week long and had various prompts with players answering with one-word, and would likewise receive reviews within one-word. [MORE INFORMATION HERE]
December 17th - One Little Spark 3: The Spark Squad by @Pi on my Cake and @Tegan pilots a chicken
The One Little Spark Competition (Now Even Weirder) is an exciting armchair imagineering competition focused on having fun and stepping outside of comfort zones! It all started when @Pi on my Cake stole Dreamfinder's Ship back in 2018. Then @PerGron and @Outbound stole the stolen ship from Pi back in 2019. Eventually, S.E.A. caught up with them and arrested the three thieves. @PerGron and @Outbound got time off for good behavior, but Pi keeps stealing the guard's keys. So, he has been moved to a maximum security prison alongside @Tegan pilots a chicken. There might be a way for them to get out, but they need creative, talented, and fun Imagineers to save the world! May 6th - The Imagineering Jam 2 by @Honey Bee (Rebooted)
Returning once more during the 20th Anniversary get ready to use your noggin as the Imagineering Jam returns. Players will be given two weeks to craft an idea based on a general theme, and once the two weeks pass all members of the forum can vote on who had their favorite project. [MORE INFORMATION HERE]
Summer 2022 - The Great Movie Ride II presented by @Disney Dad 3000 and @D Hulk
Returning to the forum to celebrate its fifth anniversary is the Great Movie Ride! Prompts will be inspired by various iconic films and will take players around the world to face on interesting challenges filmed on location. This season of the beloved competition looks to explore Disney, Universal, and new parks never before seen in this competition. Please stay tuned for more information.
