WDW Without Kids

There's a subform for WDW With Kids but I haven't seen threads for trip-planning without them! After searching for a bit, i wasn't able to find a similar thread, which I'm sure is a mistake. This seems like a popular topic. But alas, I'm here! I'm going for it!

What are your favorite things to do without children at the parks? Favorite alcoholic beverages around the parks? Best resorts to go to without children? Any quiet or romantic events/activites around Disney grounds? Romantic dinners? Nice quiet spots for sitting with your special someone?

I'll start :

  • My favorite drink : Mojito at the Polynesian Resort's Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. I tried to get into Trader Sam's but there was a 30 minute wait and the host suggested going downstairs to the Tiki Terrace. No wait, beautiful evening with beautiful weather, and some live acoustic music! Best of all, the mojito was stellar. It was a nice, romantic setting for me and my guy before our dinner reservations upstairs.
  • Fun activity : Jellyrolls. I've been to Jellyrolls twice and it is a roaring good time. Despite the cover charge and the expensive drinks, I always have a lot of fun.
  • Most romantic meal : Ohana, seated near the windows, during Wishes. PERFECTION

*Just to clarify, we're just looking to collect ideas for adult activities or tips for adults that are visiting the parks. It doesn't have to be romantic or activities to do with your partner. Just anything you would prefer to do without your children, or what children are not legally permitted to do :)

It's not an official event/activity. You just pick a monorail resort to start, get a drink at one of the bars, get on the monorail, get off at the next resort, get a drink at the bar, etc.

You can make a game out of this......get off monorail and run the nearest bar, slurp it down fast enough to catch the next train lol....person with highest rounds wins...but really loses :hilarious:

Hubby and I have no children and go to WDW together about twice a year since our first visit we enjoy resort hopping...one of our perfect days last week we hada late breakfast (and mimosas) at Kona cafe... Monorailed to contemporary explored around... Then monorailed back to MK and hopped on the boat to fort wilderness, hung out there and explored all around. Boat back to MK monorail to the GF ate at grand Floridian cafe for the first time (we will be going back!) and finished up just in time to watch wishes from the grand Floridian... It's a great spot for wishes! Such a perfect day no park ticket needed!

We love that area, too. Easy to see several resorts, each with it's own very different landscaping and decor. We still have a few more to go, but that's our arrival day fun.

And keep in mind the monorail itself can start to feel like an E ticket ride depending on how much you drink :)

I must be a horrible father, I do most of these suggestions with kids in tow.
Don't worry...we do too with the exception of the expensive food and wine events. Those I won't spend the money on the kids lol but my granddaughter does know how to sit in a lounge and sip her soda or smoothie and chat with the grown ups.
