Will DVC get a credit toward future dues, and would that end up closer to a nickel per point or $/pt?
Those DVC properties in Orange County will be eligible for tax credit. I have no idea how much it will effect the HOA dues, but my guess it will not be very much and will be offset by the new employee labor contracts with a nice increase in wages.

Disney sold The Disney Inn (Shades of Green) to the DOD in 1996 for $43 million; there is precedent.
Not really, a sale of a property 28 years ago would not be considered a comparable today--what has the cost of living gone up in 28 years? Plus property values in the Orlando area have sky rocketed.

To offset any negative publicity (Disney takes money from school district suing over property taxes - could be a headline for example), Disney could agree to spread out the refund over a number of years on future assessments, instead of demanding a lump sum. That's what I would do if I were Disney.
