WDW Trip Sept. 7 thru 14th 2014

Is this a good time to go? According to Touring Plans, the crowd forecast is really low, but I was just curious if anyone on here has been at this time or around it. How is the weather around this time? Any help or stories/ trip reports would be gladly appreciated!

Been in Sept and Oct, both were great times. Crowds good, weather good and prices good! And the NSSHP at the MK…oh mama that is the best! I can't go due to school issues with the kids anymore during these months but I would if I could!

Awesome! I'm actually currently in College now but I would be willing to miss a week of school at that time. I have been to Disney world the last few trips during the summer and it was way too crowded then. I thought September sounded like a better time to go.

We are going from 6th September for 2 weeks and have heard its one of the best times to go with crowd levels being low and weather is still really nice. When we booked there was free dining plan.

September is my favorite time to go! We have been going every year during Labor Day week. Starting on Labor Day, everyone goes home and the parks empty out. The longest line I can remember seeing is 45 mintues for Toy Story Mania. The old-school fastpasses for that ride would run out in the early afternoon. I don't know what it will be like with FP+ now. We are so spoiled by Sept that we don't like to wait more than 20 minutes for a ride. The weather is good. It will be hot and it will rain, but it won't be like July.

There are only a couple of things to watch out for. We have always found that the late EMHs in the MK get crazy crowded. I don't know where all of the people come from, because they weren't there in the day. Also, Night of Joy is held in the MK the Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. If you go with the dates you listed, you will miss it. If you go any earlier, just know to avoid the MK on those days. The park fills up quickly with the NoJ participants and closes early for the concerts.

As for the free dining, it has always been offered in Sept, but it depends on where you are staying. There are some rooms that do not come with free dining. We were told this is because those resorts are popular enough that they do not need the incentive. As long as you are flexible about where you want to stay, you can get the free dining.

Thanks for the helpful advice! Do you know if PORFQ has free dining?

Sept is the best time to go! I normally go every Sept but decided to switch it up this year. The weather is definitely hot and humid but it is worth it for walk on rides. Big rides like Soarin, Test Track, and Toy Story Midway Mania tend to hit 40 - 60 minutes max. Most rides stay under 15 minutes. Last year (first week of Sept) Space Mountain's highest wait time hit 20 minutes.

Free Dining has been offered for most of Sept. Last year they start free dining on the 2nd of September. POFQ will mostly likely not be included in FD offers. POFQ almost never gets discounts because it is popular and fills up without discounts.

That's good news! What hotels offer the free dining plan?

How do you find out what hotels/ resorts offer free dining?

Normally, when they announce free dining they specify which resorts...

Last year, all resorts except Ft. Wilderness campsites and 3-bedroom villas, Villas at Grand Floridian, Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort, and All-Star Movies Resort were not included in this offer.

Alright when do they announce which resorts will get free dining?

Check the package offers around apr/may. You'll find good prices and free dining plans with your stay. I've been there in sept and october. September it's a little bit hot but not so rainy like july/aug. Crowds are low.
It's a good time to go. Try to go later sept to catch the food and wine festival.

I was in The World in 2013 September 9-17. Low crowds during the week and much higher on the weekend. As noted on the post above, certain rides always have long lines no matter the crowds but for the most part, the others were walk-ons. We also enjoyed free dining and stayed at the WL. Boats and busses were never crowded. The weather....hot and humid.....just like July and August and some mid afternoon downpours. We just tucked in somewhere and waited it out.. :cat:
