Was it here that I saw the information on getting from a Disney resort to Universal? I have looked but cannot find it. Nevertheless, what is a good way to get there?

There's plenty of ways.

1) Take a cab. It's not quite as cheap as some other options but your Disney resort can call you one and you can get there relatively quickly.
2) Uber. I personally don't have experience with Uber, but it's cheaper than a cab (I believe), so there's that.
3) Rental Car. If you plan on going to other places other than Universal, you could get a rental car. But, you'd have to pay for parking.
4) Town Car. While its a more expensive option, you could pre-schedule a town car to pick you up and take you both ways.

I'm sure there's plenty of other options as well, but these are the ones I see most frequently on these boards.

It depends on how many people you have, how fast and how cheap you need to get there. @RMichael21 listed several options. You can also take public bus (Lynx) from TTC/Disney Springs (Can't remember if both or not), should be the cheapest at like $8/person but that option I think takes 2 hours according to the bus schedule. Mears also runs shuttle buses from the resorts, I believe you can purchase them direct from Mears, or from many travel agents as part of ticket/transportation package with your Uni tickets. That's something like $20/person round trip I believe. Plenty of options, it depends on your specifics.

We will be at WDW Dec 11-17 and want to spend one day at US. I searched it on Travel Advisor app, and the Mears shuttle was the least expensive, but all comments were negative because of the multiple stops it makes at many resorts. We decided to rent a car for the day at about the same cost per person as Mears. We are renting from Disney Car Care Center who has complimentary pick up/drop off at your resort. We'll see how it goes!

I was not sure if you meant vehicle to get there, or route to take there. Here's a simple set of directions you may take there: Go to the Disney gates nearest Disney Springs. Take a left on what will become Apopka-Vineland Road. Drive a while until you turn right on Sand Lake Road. Soon after that, take a left on Turkey Lake Road. Drive along until you see Universal--you can't miss it. From there on, follow the signs.

For convenience sake I would suggest Uber. If you haven't taken Uber before use the code norg3 for $10 off your first ride- should cover about half of the trip there.

This code doesn't expire and can be used by anyone, but only once per account. Enjoy!

We took the public bus - the Lynx - to and from Sea World. It was $12 round trip for a family of 4. The bus drivers were great. We left from the TTC and came home to Downtown Disney. We were dropped off right at the park entrance. Cheap and easy. I would do it again. Their schedule is online.

We rented a car for 3 days. We were at the Disney resort the entire trip, but wanted to hit US for 3 days. It wasn't too bad as I used my corporate discount... but if I were to do it again I would use Uber. I have started using Uber on business trips and have had nothing but good experiences with them. We are planning on using Uber on our next trip to go from the CB resort to AK for an ADR.
