They probably have a computer program to do that every year. Auto increase

My AP ends in September during the middle of my trip, so I just renewed it for another year. The only good thing about the park reservation system is that you can renew well in advance and save on the price increase.

It's also gross that you can't use those tickets when you want to. We have a Sat to Sat resort reservation and because we'll be doing other non-Disney things, I am only purchasing a 2 day ticket for my mother. So that means, starting on the first full day of our trip (Sunday), she has only four consecutive days to use those 2 day tickets, which means we'll have to squish all Disney in the front half or back half of the trip (if I pick a different "1st" day of when to use the tickets). That's bull crap. :mad:

And thank you for that warning, I was going to wait for the next credit card cycle to renew the AP but seeing as typically they too get a price increase soon after a ticket one I renewed asap.

Has something changed? I thought you have a 14 day window after the first day's use to use the tickets.

No, nothing has changed. It's based on how many days ticket you have. If you buy a 6 day ticket, you have 8 (or 9?) consecutive days to use that ticket. I've never only purchased a 2 day ticket before, so had no idea the window was so short.

My AP also expires in September. Is there any info about an AP renewal increase? And how does having the park reservation increase the renewal window beyond the normal 60 days before expiration? I can't find way to do so.

I have reservations in September and since I need a valid ticket to make park reservations DVC sells renewal passes before the 60 days but only if you have a DVC reservation. I not only have Setember but also November. Disney needs to sell them so you can make your park reservation and not be blocked out. Now if they would get rid of this stupid system for those staying on property, they could go back to the old system.

It changed a while back. Before the pandemic. The length of time you have to use a ticket is no longer a flat 14 days. It can be much shorter depending on the length of your ticket.

This is such an odd policy, if they had something like a 6 month use window we’d buy 10 day park tickets every time we go and make 2nd trips to use them. That’s an extra 6-7 nights of lodging, food, and merch sales in Disneys pocket just for letting us buy the more heavily discounted tickets. Maybe tie it to hotel reservations only to ensure locals aren’t abusing it.

Tickets used to never expire and you also used to never specify a stupid start date.

IF you know someone who has military base access you can still get Magic Your Way tickets that do not start on a specific day. They do however still expire. My current 7 day ph expires on Jan 14 2023 and first use must be on or before Dec 31 2022. Not to mention there is no tax.
