We live about an hour and a half away from WDW and have annuals. We take day trips or weekend trips at least every other months and longer trips anywhere from 3-7 day trips at least twice a year. And, I can't get enough of it. And, it is still magical every time. I think it's like an addiction or something :p

Would definately visit more often than we do now if we lived closer
Currently its once a year for two weeks but would definately be a regular thing if we were Floridians.
As it is we have to Fly for an hour ish to get to the UK and then a 7-9 hour flight to 'Merica.
So in reality its two days travelling each way :(

Its funny but when I think about going to the parks at my current age..(mid 40's) My mind automatically goes to Rides, and Fireworks...Parades , Running around Tom Sawyer Island with my kids ect, ect. But, when I think of being there as an ADULT (confirmed full grown child here) I think about the Resutrants, Food and Wine, Flowers, Candlelight processional, Downtown ,Using the Pools and Taking the tours.

Funny how my mind works....or Doesn't work!!

My park-related excitement had kind of worn off even before I moved. I was looking much more forward to the glorious sunshine than I was the parks...which is when I started thinking, "Maybe I should just move to Florida." It took years to do it, but I finally did. I wouldn't advise anyone to move for the parks. They get old. They really do.

But I still like the parks. All of them - not just Disney.

The best part about living near them is you don't have to worry about keeping a schedule. No ADRs to keep. No criss-crossing the park for FPs. Everything has been done and it all kind of equalizes. I am just as happy to watch Philharmagic or the Tiki birds as I am to ride Splash Mtn. If I don't ride Spider-Man today, its okay. I rode it before. I'll ride it again. It's just not a thing.

The parks are also a nice place to walk. If the park itself isn't interesting enough, the people can be. You can walk further without any boredom. And you can walk at night without worrying about who might jump out of the trees. The hotels are nice to walk, too...especially the mods.

It does kind of become just another thing to do that is near where you live...but it's a great thing to do. For me, anyway.

I've heard there are people who go every day and just love, love, love it...so it obviously can be done. Different people, different experiences. :)

Every two years for us too. This is the first time we've waited almost three years to go but it's because we have an almost three year old going for her first time. We live 12 hrs by car and two by plane so the cost involved to fly (I hate driving more than 5 hrs in a car) also makes it easier on the wallet to go every two years or so. I think if we went every year, there wouldn't be as many big things to get excited about as we'd be like, oh yeah we remember that from last time.

Distance is a factor in our trip frequency. Over 1400 miles away. If I lived nearby I surely would be there for every event and celebration. I have customers who go every year, multiple trips every year and they are always excited/pumped up for each visit... so I guess it is different for every one.... how you keep the love of Disney, the magic of Disney alive after multiple and frequent visits. I'd sure love to be in a position where I could go monthly, or even quarterly to try it out.

As a Long Islander with an airport 15 minutes away, I could be in WDW pretty quickly... but (money issues aside) there is the issue of burnout. I liked going twice a year because it made me really, really want to be there and think about how much it means to me. I think if I went more (ok, I could take a long weekend somewhere in there), it could lose some of its sparkle and magic.

Same with some of the other trips I take... it's nice to go, but can't see doing it every month....

Greetings from a fellow Long Islander!!

I live 3 hours south of Disney. We go every few months for a week. We stay away on weekends due to it being more crowded then We get weekday pass's good for a year from AAA for $200. each. That an a resident or annual pass discount it is the cheapest thing for us to do. It has lost the magic a little bit we just keep trying to find things to do we over looked in the past. We still love Disney!

We were up in the air about this years plans for a long time. We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this year and had talked about going to Wdw by ourselfs to relive a bit of our Disney Honeymoon from 1993..

We already had plans for a 4-5 night trip in August with the Family and after looking at all the expenses of a second trip decided to make the august trip 7 nights 8 days.

I think If we lived close enough to drive we would likley take a weekend for ourselfs now and then.
