WDW sign fell down on I-4

I read that a large green man with odd cone shaped ears, traveling with a donkey was seen in the area before the sign cam down.

There have actually been all sorts of intermittent overnight closures in that stretch of I4 between midnight and 4AM for a couple of weeks. They're finally wrapping up the I4/ 192 construction project and the signage is one of the last stages.

From what I've read they only expected this project to take 15-20 minutes and then it went totally wrong.

No, this was just mis-reported. It was actually Mr. Toad. Apparently he's still upset about losing his ride, so he's trying to stop people from visiting Disney.

Actually it was the old State DOT signs and gantry on I-4 west bound before 192 exit. The company doing the road construction for the new 192 interchange that just opened, was prepping it for removal overnite tonight.They took off to many of the nuts anchoring the one support post to the ground, and the whole thing started to lean over. The hooked the crane up to it but DOT said no way take it down. To much of a risk for falling onto I-4 and traffic.
