WDW Ride Safety/Maintenance

Small town carny festivals give me the heebie jeebies more than any haunted house ever could. I don't trust them AT ALL. Every year you hear horror stories of people getting scalped, thrown off rides and who knows what breaking. I'll stick to the food and risk food poisoning eating zeppoles. At least that seems low risk. 😉

To me, this makes no sense. A ride that is constantly disassembled and reassembled would not have the structural integrity of a permanent attraction, and should be subjected to increased inspection. And, it always sems that the majority of the accidents you hear about are from traveling fairs or small parks. I always feel safe on a WDW ride; on a ride at a place like Fun Spot or a local fair, not so much.
I saw this roller coaster last year when I was attending a Convention the hotel next door. I was walking past this and was thinking I'd never ride something like this. Gave me the impression that it was in bad shape or not being used.

I do remember, after the fatal accident at Disneyland, the locomotives were slightly altered in design on BTMRR. The 2nd set of big wheels on the engines were removed. So now there is the first big wheel and then a gap and then the 2nd (formerly 3rd) row of smaller wheels in the rear of the locomotive.

Original design with 3 sets of wheels.

Design after the 2003 DL accident. Notice the 2nd row of big wheels is now gone.
