For a BBC programme, 20,000 Britons were surveryed, and here are the top ten results:

1. Grand Canyon
2.Great Barrier Reef
3.Walt Disney World, Florida
4.South Island, New Zealand
5. Cape Town
6.Golden Temple, Amritsar, India
7. Las Vegas
8. Sydney
9. New York
10. Taj Mahal, India

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I think it's great that WDW came 3rd!!! Considering that it is not to everyones liking, its done great!!!

I am pleased that WDW got the recongnition it deserved!! :D

For people in the UK, you can watch BBC Holiday, on BBC1 tomorrow night, at 8pm - as it will feature the results :)

Wow, what a great list....I'm actually pretty amazed the WDW is at number 3, a little higher than I would've expected, but great news for Disney.

Then that one has already been scratched off you list. :)

I know the Grand Canyon is well, grand and all but I can’t believe that Disney took second fiddle to a big crack in the ground. ;)

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Hmmm.... if I were going to die... I'd cash out the 401k (whats left of it  ) hang out at wdw for like a month.... then drive to the Grand Canyon and go out Thelma and Louise Style

I spent a bunch of time in London for work about 1.5 years ago. Almost every time I took a cab, the cabdriver said he had been to the U.S. once, to go to Disney World. This discussion happened with about 8 out of 10 cab drivers. So it's the London Cabbies bringing it up to #3.

To tell the truth, although I love Disney World, I find it sad that it and Las Vegas are 50% of Britons' U.S. desires. The number of Europeans who probably think of Disney or in Las Vegas as typical of the U.S. as a whole is not good for our reputation as a cultural wasteland. And, when you consider that many who go to New York won't get much farther than Times Square, Broadway, and the Empire State Building, it's even more depressing they won't see more of the "real" United States.
