After Terminator 2, all of his movies became pedantic crap relying on special effects to make up for all the terrible writing. He's the new George Lucas.

I think you might be the first person I have ever even seen imply that True Lies is a bad movie.

Titanic (which I think is possibly the most over-bashed movie ever by some people... and I'm not saying you are one of those people) is easily one of the most popular and iconic movies of its time. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a great achievement for Cameron, if nothing else. But yeah, Titanic really isn't the point here.

Avatar (along with Titanic) is one of the biggest movies of all time. The main thing here is that, no matter how anyone feels about the script, Avatar featured possibly the most immersive world/experience of any movie I have ever seen. He spent years (and hundreds of millions of dollars) creating this world viewers can get lost in. If Cameron, Disney and the Imagineers put in half as much effort to create the physical world in Animal Kingdom, it's going to be a hit. People who have never seen the movie will flock to it (like there are testimonies of people who never got into Harry Potter doing now at Universal).
