I heard July and August are the most crowded monnths... If you can wait, I'd say go the last week of August.. Tons of kiddies are already back at school (if you don't mind the HEAT) ;)

We have gone every year during the 4th of July and we would not go any other time. Yes it is crowded and it can be hot but I have been in August and it was hotter. Why do we love the 4th there? A WDW engineer in charge of much of the WDW grounds told me that WDW plans rehab of rides and Resorts to be ready and at its best for the 4th of July week. I have even seen it myself. We checked into the Polynesian one year on the 1st and there were walls up outside the entrance because they were painting and cleaning. I was told they were getting the resort ready for the 4th. Also many of the rides down for rehab in May and June were set to open back up for the 4th. As far as crowds well yes there are more people but just about everything is open so there is more places for all the people to go. Also things are open later so people go in and out all day. Every time we have been in WDW for the 4th we keep a journal and one of the tings we keep track of was our longest wait time. With using fast pas or just knowing where to go when we never waited longer than 15 for anything and most things we got on in less than 5. Also there is usually a little rain almost every day around 3:00 which the clouds help keep things cooler and the rain does not feel bad at all. Besides all of those things there are always special things going on for the 4th and I don’t think there is a better place to be for the 4th of July.

I agree with Tikiman, the 4th of July is one magical time of the year to vist WDW. It is even better when you have an annual pass so you do not have to worry about burning up a day pass. It comes in very handy if you want to stay poolside and get away from the heat and crowds during the day and you then go to the parks at night with the long extended hours. There is nothing that I enjoy better then sitting around the pools in my Speedo during the day and then hoping over to the parks at night, it is wonderful.

Hello! I am new here and have really enjoyed all the discussions so far - thanks for making my days!!

Anyways, I LOVE WDW in July, especically for the 4th! Our first trip during the 4th weekend was in 1996. We were married in WDW (WP and GF) on July 6th and celebrated with our families for a couple of days prior. It was the best time ever! :sohappy:

It is hot and crowded but that is true of really any holiday spent at WDW. But the fireworks and pride in our country are well worth the trip, especially during these trying times. Everywhere you turn, there is a show going on and celebrations throughout the day and night. :p

We also went during Christmas and New Years and that was a great experience!:xmas:

But really, any time at WDW is the best time!:D
