WDW next sunday, smelling the roses?...

I am leaving next sunday. Any small tips or ideas. My last trip was only last June so I'm leaving my planning pretty open except for evenings. Monday night Fantasmic, Tuesday night e-ride night, Wednessday night Magic Kingdom again on my last night in Walt Disney World. (then off to to Universal.) I just thought that since this would be a more relaxing trip this year since its the second time in two years what some seasoned veterains do to make trips special. So how do you stop and smell the roses?

I can't stress this enough!! Head to the boardwalk..either from EPCOT or MGM...eat lunch there...ESPN club is a favorite for us...and then stroll over to Fantasia Gardens....ITS SOO MUCH FUN and is a good breather from the parks!!

Well, there's the rose garden off to the right, just over the first bridge. It goes often overlooked and very peaceful and serine. (SP?)

You could just people watch, or just do whatever you feel like doing. Youre on vacation, you can just kick back and relax.... You dont have to do *EVERYTHING*.....

Its who your with that makes it special - not what you do, IMO.

Go to the dollar store and pick up a couple of rain ponchos or umbrellas. It has rained a little (sometimes a lot) every day for the past week. We always carry the ponchos (they come in a 2 pack for a dollar) so we can use them and then throw them away if needed.

If you can afford the time, try to take 5-10 minutes and sit down and relax in each section of each Disney park you plan on visiting. For example, find a spot to sit down in Liberty Square and enjoy listening to the music, watching the entertainers (also known as the general public), and appreciating the architecture in the local area. This way you can "soak up" the parks one section at a time and is a great way to experience the magic of Disney.

Another way is to explore the back areas of the parks and visit the quiet attractions. For example, take a stroll through the back of Morocco, explore Tom Sawyer's Island, or go through the gardens by the Yakitori in Japan. The level of detail in Disney is simply amazing, and a lot of it is missed if you just go on the rides and not stop to look around anywhere.

well on my last trip ( 2 weeks ago or so) I made it a point to kinda get a bit more indepth with World Showcase. That included hitting every country that has an attraction ( Boat ride in Mexico and Norway, Movies in China, France and Canada, etc) I Also caught the band Off Kilter for the first time by Canada. They were really great and so much fun to watch. They have a great sense of humor about themselves and are accomplished musicians!!! Definitely worth the half hour or thereabouts!! Belle
