WDW marketed only for kids?

So this May my girlfriend and I are planning a trip to WDW and Universal. She has not been in several years and is pretty excited about it, but commented that it is a "kids parks." So I went to the WDW website to find some videos to get her more excited for the trip - and it blew up in my face!

I understand that Disney is catering to families and children but the current park videos they have on their website are ridiculous. The narration speaks like she's narrating to 6 year olds. "Do you wish you could be a pirate or princess?" 80% of the shots were of kids on the kid's rides and gave almost no detail about the rides or shows! I couldn't sell to her how much fun we would have when the entire park overview was focused on children. So I loaded Hollywood Studios and it was almost the same!

I remember the 90s Disney promotional videos showing the parks and rides and not over glamorizing everything so much. I ordered the free Disney Vacation DVD and am hoping it's better. I remember I ordered it back when it was "Dreams" and it was so drawn out and fantastical that it really hurt my push to take a Disney trip with a 20s aged crowd. I understand it's marketed towards families, but I really wish they would do a few different genre of videos to cater towards other demographics.

I then loaded the Universal Studios website and she was excited because they featured just the rides and it's not over the top kiddy.

Over the past decade the marketing blitz has nosedived way too far towards kids. Kids who ask parents for more money.

Heading for the great escape.
I could start to grind my axe on this, in fact I will.

purley an opinion Its easier and cheaper to cater for snot gobblers as every generation follow the same trends. This makes its easier for WDW less than creative management to come up with attractions that will cater to this market.

Have you tried a more adult/grown up vacation e.g. Las Vegas Nevada?

Disney know that parents today spoil their kids rotten and if they want something bad enough the parents will buy it for them just to shut them up. So what do they need to market to older crowd when they have the young crowd pulling the strings. You may not like but it works.
