Does anyone know if they charge an excessive amount for shipping, or is it pretty much on par w/ normal shipping rates?

Thanks! :king:

I know my mom called to order new Visa pins, and the shipping was more than $10. She tried DL's mail order, and it was only around $4, if I remember correctly. She said from now on she'll use DL's mail order for any of the Visa pins.

I'm not sure if shipping is a flat charge or done by weight (although the pin charge would suggest that it's either a flat rate or done by the dollar amount). Here's the number, in case you didn't have it already: 407-363-6200

Shipping is based on the cost of the item being ordered, not the weight of the item being ordered. So if the item you are ordering weighs 2 pounds but costs $30, they are going to charge you shipping equivalent to the $30, not the 2 pounds.

I was going to order something through Disney World mail order last year that cost $45 but weighed less than 1 pound and they were going to charge me over $50 to ship it. I decided to just wait to buy it until I was actually at the parks.

Also it's cheaper to ship from your resort front desk than it is to ship from your resort store as your front desk ships via normal shipping procedures and charges you shipping fees based on item weight, not item cost.

My mother in law ordered the Walt Disney World Rail Road for my little boy and had it shipped and they only charged her 15.00 to ship it. The train was like 60.00 or something. It was in a large box so I really thought that the shipping would be more than that.

I wonder if they have a flat rate starting point, though. DD bought an Aurora pillow and had it sent home. Pillow was like $10, and she paid almost double to have it shipped. Then, on our last morning, I went to the emporium and bought over $100 worth of stuff (keychains, photo albums, cat dishes) and only paid $12 in shipping.
