WDW in April or Early June?

Ok, here is the deal. My wife and I are both schoolteachers and have already had our 1st vaccine shot. The 2nd one will be in 2 weeks and then I guess a couple weeks after that the vaccine is at "full power". We had to cancel our trip last year and REALLY want to go soon. We're not huge parade people and our kids are super picky eaters, so we were always planning on doing quick service anyways. The only thing we'd miss is the fireworks, but that's ok.

We are deciding between going in Mid April, which would be a 5 day trip so really 4 full days in the parks. The upside to this would be the weather would be slightly more pleasant and the lines will be much shorter. The downside is it'd be a little more stressful to leave our jobs and then also have our kids out of school for a few days.

Our other option is going in very early June. Upside is that we'll be done with school and ready for vacation and we could probably spend 6 full days there. Downside is that it will be hotter and more crowded....I'm assuming at this point there will be many more people vaccinated and ready to travel.

Any thoughts on this? We really can't decide!

Have you seen the limited park hours and really thought through what you're going to be able to do in that time? Even your "longer" option isn't long enough IMO. MK and HS need 2 days each right now, and I'd do at least 1.5 for each of Epcot and AK. Unless you skip a ton of things.
We have been to WDW before, so I'm not really concerned with doing everything. Even if I wanted to do everything, I have to balance needs out a bit. My wife is a WDW fan, but there is really no way that she'd be game for staying more than 6 days. So I have to think, what is better, staying for 4 days in April or 6 days in June?

I have a little more flexibility in my schedule and I'd like to stay an extra day or 2 with the kids while my wife goes back. My wife thinks the kids will be ready to leave so isn't going for that one.

Grounds for divorce.

My extended family is like that and we travel with them somewhat frequently. I was able to convince them that a longer trip actually makes things feel less intense/in-your-face because everything is spaced out and you can take it at a slower pace. More time for napping, swimming, dining, days off completely, etc.

My DH was against a full week at WDW. I bribed him with a rest day and half-days at parks/park and resort hopping for dinner.

Would you rather do early June for 7 days or 3rd week of April for 4 full days? Trying to convince my wife to stay for a 5th day, but she is not finding my story convincing. I first said that we can just take a late flight, but she didn't want to do that. I then suggested the kids and I will stay for an extra day, but that went over even worse...she said it would make her feel left out and depressed if we were there an extra day and she was at home. I get it, but it doesn't help my situation. Biggest concern that with more stuff to do, a kid that wants to do a water park, and reduced park hours that we'll just feel like it was rushed.

So the other alternative is just going in early June and doing the full week. Not sure how I feel about that either though.

I'd do the full-week in June. I can't imagine how it would feel if one of my kids didn't get to ride one of their "must-do's" because it was down that day and we couldn't return because we were only doing 1 park/day. Plus, even at 14 and 17, my boys have to do pool time/water parks, so we'd would have to do the longer trip.

You could always try to bribe your wife with using one of your personal days from work for a long weekend trip somewhere just the 2 of you as a trade for doing the longer trip with the family 😉 Tends to work with my DH!

Honestly, I haven't been to WDW during either of those time periods in several years, so I'm not sure my experiences would be valid anymore, especially with covid. Even the crowd calendars I've looked at seem like a shot in the dark for the rest of the year, and with timelines on vaccinations shifting, it's impossible to tell. If your April trip is over a weekend, the crowd levels might not be that much different than weekdays in June? June would likely be hotter, and with greater chance of rain. Personally, I'd probably go for June, but that's because 1. we enjoy pool swimming breaks in the heat of the afternoon anyway, 2. quick trips, especially quick trips to a busy location, don't really allow me to relax as much, and 3. More days = more Disney treats.
