WDW Hot Takes

Not if you want to eat good food.

I don't think there's much else there that matters, but even the QS places at DS are better than most of the TS options in the parks. Last time we were at Disney we ate dinner at DS almost every night, even if it was just late QS after leaving one of the parks in the evening.
i totally agree with you. the boathouse is such a great restaurant there. the seafood is especially always to die for and the lobster is incredible, and their service is always impeccable. The mega Disney store is always so much fun there too. I rather enjoy the Tommy Bahama store there too, especially for their unique Disney shirts. The pretzel place is rather yummy. And, of course, who could ever forget the Happy Hound where they were so nice to us and we got unique Lady and The Tramp collars and leashes for sweet Belle Belle!

Hmmm…

-Jungle Cruise is overrated and would be improved without the corny dad jokes. Maybe add some thrill elements.
-People Mover is the best ride in MK
-Turkey legs are gross!
don't agree with any of your WDW Hot Takes, but your avatar is pretty cute! (I give you extra stars for that!). I LOVED that movie!

I'm not so picky an eater that I'd deal with the hassle of going out to Springs after a long day in the parks just to eat, unless there was a specific restaurant in mind.

Also another reason to stay off site and/or have a rental car.

We like staying at POR, so it's easy to get to/from Springs there.

I drive to WDW, though, so I always have a car, but don't go off-site much. Most of what's around WDW is awful.

The food there isn’t that good either.

Not in an overall sense, but it's a lot better than most of the in-park food.

Polite Pig actually got a Michelin Plate award, although while I do enjoy Polite Pig, that has to be solely because it's in Orlando. It wouldn't be one of the best BBQ places here in Atlanta.

Hot take and more of a question. Why do so many hate on thrills on rides?
My guess is this - when you think of walking down Main Street USA, do you mentally clench your fists while the words “adrenaline”, “hardcore”, and “thrash” come to mind? Is it more Metallica or soft jazz music in terms of vibe?

There’s nothing wrong with thrills, but there are a ton of coaster parks in the US. I would say the vibe at Disney is totally different, and that’s fine. Not every park needs to be a coaster park.

Disney should never have got into the zoo business, and within the next couple of decades, Animal Kingdom will transition entirely away from the display of captive animals.

More depressing take - in the next few decades we will rely more on zoos because certain species of animals will exist pretty much only in captivity. The idea of them living as wild creatures in, well, the wild, will feel like a quaint notion.

Zoos play very little role in saving vulnerable species. It's a myth that the industry promotes and that the public gladly buys into to feel better about the practice of keeping animals in captivity. The vast majority of animals in zoos aren't endangered or vulnerable.

Maybe my view is overly dystopian. I sometimes feel like some biomes will be wiped out entirely, but maybe not.

Yes
Wdw's customers are it's largest obstacle to presenting a "good show". They don't comprehend that it's not 100% like wherever they come from and get offended and are abruptly rude to the cast members that don't immediately kowtow to change it to thier preferences.
