WDW Holiday Parade????

I always watch the holiday parade on TV and love it, this year we will be at WDW from Nov 10 to the 17th, I know the parade is taped in advance and have heard they tape it on Veterans day which is our last day there, can anyone tell me when they tape the parade? how do you get in for the taping? is it a hard ticket event or can you just go to the park that day and watch the parade knowing its being taped? I was planning on park hopping the last day but if they are taping I think my GF wants to be there for it.

Newbie here... but in all my looking into this i think they tape it on or around Dec 1&2. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. LOL

but we actually changed our dates to not be there for the taping... so I know I looked up a lot of info on it.

The parade tapes normally the first Friday & Saturday in December. Plan to arrive around 7am for a good spot on Main Street and you'll be there till about 4:30 pm if you stay all the way through the taping. Have fun :sohappy:

Maybe this is too much of a backlash against the recent trend to replace "christmas" with "holiday", and I don't even know if that's what your intent was or not...

...but I really wish people would call it the CHRISTMAS parade, not the HOLIDAY parade! :brick:

I'm actually glad to hear they are not taping the Christmas parade while we are there. Originally we were going over Christmas and I thought it would be fun to be there for the parade, then I heard it was pe-taped and that really kinda ended it for me. I thought I had heard they did some taping Veterans Day but V-Day may have been ealy December that year. I plan on park hopping and the GF can meet me at EPCOT in the afternoon as I planned.
Thanks for the info and pointing me to the thread, this doesnt sound like something I want to do.

They're filming on December 1st. You have to arrive early if you want to be on TV (watching the parade). You will have to arrive around 5:30am Disney/ABC to start filming.

vet day is always Nov 11.

you probably know this.. but if you want to see the actual parade the Christmas party is going on while you are there... you can get tickets to one... just in case, thought i'd mention it.
