WDW Golf- Play by yourself??

I was just wondering if they ever set up solo tee times at any of the WDW Golf Courses? My husband was interested in playing golf, but didn't want to be set up in a foursome with strangers. He really isn't some anti-social person, he just likes getting up early sometimes on vacation and golfing through a course "quickly", by himself. He figured that at WDW everything there is busy and this wouldn't happen. Has anyone had any experience with this? We're going Dec. 3-8. Thank you!!!

Hi Audrey, my husband is the same way. Actually, the pace of play at the WDW courses are strictly enforced. So it really isn't a problem being grouped into a foursome. My husband usually plays about half the time we're there. We're actually going to be there during the time you are. If you want to throw them together, I can get the dates and courses he'll be playing for you.

I play at least once everytime I go to WDW. I like meeting new people and find really nice people when I go but, I do understand not wanting to deal with other people. Last time I went I wanted to get out early and have more time at the parks so I went to Oak Trail. It is a disney course that is a nine hole walking course. It is a regulation course that you must walk. I went in Feb. and I didn't see anybody till I was on the last hole and the next group was teeing off on the first hole. I hope this works.

I think it will be hard for him to play by himself. Except for maybe the 9 hole course as mentioned above. We went and played 3 of the courses in February and we where matched up everytime with at least 1 other person. Its no biggie really as golfers we are used to being matched up. Its usually a place where the men can get a way from the mouse for a bit and let the wife and kids enjoy some pool time or park time.

Either way he will be golfing in Disney in December:xmas: so if hes a single or part of a group better than not golfing at all.:D

the first time we went they set us up with another twosome which i was def not a fan of, so this past year when we went, we asked to be set out alone, seeing as we were the only ones going out at that time, they said ok, but i think most of the time they like to play by foursomes only. early morning i would say would most likely be set up in 4. we had a 720 tee time the first time and the course was busy.

I was thinking of attempting some golf this September but didn't want to pack my clubs for the 9 holes I would play. Do the courses rent clubs of any quality?

The mens Cobra/Titleist are $55-$45 for rent per day. They do have a basic set for Oak Trail for $15. You need a photo ID to rent them.

Thank you everyone! I'm going to let him decide what he wants to do. I'm trying to get something that he really enjoys since he's not as much of a Disney nut as I am. :) Thanks again!!

I often wondered if I asked for the first tee time but asked if I could start on the 3rd hole, just so I could play by myself and still pay the full amount

That is a pretty creative idea. It would be worth asking about. The only drawback is you will finish your one round of golf shortly after the parks open. Then what do you do if you are not as much of a Disney nut?

We golf every year and on a few occasions we have been paired with a single player. Ive never seen anyone out on the course as a single. We stay at old key west and like to watch the golfers and never any singles go by.
