WDW "FIREWORKS" update

I asked a member of the Wishes fireworks team that I've known for a few years about a some issues:

1 - the Halloween & Christmas party fireworks are being redone by the creator of "Wishes" (which was apparently outsourced and not done by the creative lead of MK)

2 - currently they are short staffed fireworks technicans, so don't expect a new fireworks show at MGM any time soon.

3 - the idea about brining back Sorcery in the Sky was talked about but appears to be on the back burner or dead for the current time. If it happens, don't expect it for at least a year or 2. The only part of the story that didn't make sense was that they were trying to figure out what they would end the evening with, LMAX, Sorcery or Fantasmic or maybe the possibility of rotating them? Apparently they don't schedule a showing of LMAX & Fantasmic at the same time.

4 - no one has any knowledge of what they are doing with 20K area, all management floats out is "E ticket ride". (this makes sense cause if there was a definite plan it would have leaked out along time ago).

The show director for Wishes was Steven Davison creative director with Walt Disney Creative Entertainment, who also developed the "Believe. . .There's Magic in the Stars" fireworks spectacular at Disneyland. The fireworks designer was Eric Tucker
who previously designed the fireworks for "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth" at Epcot. It had been reported on here earlier that they were currently working on a new Wicked Wishes and Winter Wishes.

I think LMA would be awesome as a nighttime show, but only if they add extra fireworks at night. You know, spruce up the finale.

One problem......any major fireworks would cause fallout, and unless they were launched from outside the park (which by the direction that the seats face, would not be possible) the entrance/exit would be in the fallout area.

Davison is also the show director for Remember...Dreams Come True -- the new show at Disneyland. Due to the proximity to EPCOT, they also have to make sure that the fireworks wouldn't step on each others toes.

Really? I would have thought that would be a popular position. It's certainly something I've considered, but I don't know what Disney's requirements for the position are. I know out here in California you have to do a lot of apprenticeship time first, and those positions are tough to get.

I had no idea it was common knowledge. It was the first time I heard it, so I figured I'd post it. Thanks :D :D :D

This is just a special fireworks show. They have it on July 4th & NYE every year. It is no longer the real SitS anymore, it is just the patriotic/NYE finale portion of the show. Why they still call it SitS, I don't know.

The new "Wishes" shows will be called:

Winter Wishes (Christmas)
and
Wicked Wishes (Halloween)

The working titles have changed. They are not going to be called these now. The latter was too kid unfriendly. I am not at liberty to reveal the names yet, but as soon as I am, you will know. Sorry for being vague.
