WDW dining choices

I'm hoping that some of you fellow WDW lovers can give me some suggestions on where to take my family for meals on the dining plan. We don't like Oriental food, or really much of any foreign/exotic stuff and we're not big on barbeque.

I've already got plans for us to do Cinderella's Castle, Crystal Palace, and Chef Mickey's on my list and am looking for other good places to eat. I also plan on trying to get a window seat at Pinnochio's Village Hause(sp?) to overlook IASW. Any ideas? My kids are 9(girl) and 8(boy), if that makes any difference.

All suggestions are welcome and thanks!

How many days will you be there? 1900 Park Faire at Grand Floridian. It is pretty cool with Cinderella, Step Sisters, Prince Charming and the food is good. How about the buffet at Wildnerness campground. The kids would get a kick out of that. Check it out online. Whipsering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. Have the kids ask for Ketchup, trust me on this one. For lunch at MK eat at Cosmic Rays or Pecos. So many choices. We have been to many. Email me if you want more. Be happy to help out.

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
Le Cellier - great streak
Boma - great selection and although they give some of it "Afritude" nothing overly spicy and all really good
Artist Point - Signature dining, but worth it.
Shula's - steak

A must do for our family each trip is Cape May Cafe. In the morning it is a character breakfast and in the evening they call it a "clam bake" with no characters. Don't worry if you don't like seafood, I don't either and it has never been an issue. The buffet offers pasta's, salad's, potatoes, veggies, carving stations, and the kiddie station has pizza, mac & cheese, hot dogs and chicken. Now, if you like seafood like my hubby and sisters do then you won't be dissapointed. My kids always look forward to going there
even though they don't eat seafood either. My DD is 12 and DS just turned 8.

My family also likes Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. It is a traditional thanksgiving dinner served family style. However, it is no longer a character meal but, it's still good.

Other suggestions that my kids and the rest of the family love:

Garden Grill in Epcot
Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge
O'hanas for breakfast(character meal)
O'hanas for dinner (no characters but, cocnut races and limbo for the kids)
Sci-Fi in DHS
50's prime time cafe in DHS

I agree with a previous poster about Cosmic ray's and Pecos bills in MK for counter service meals.
We also like Flame Tree BBQ in AK

Just know that at many of the MK dining areas, especially Pinnochio's, a CM will guide you to a seat if you go when it's really busy. You can always ask for one of the coveted seats, though! :)

Chef Mickey's is a must do, so I'm glad it's on your list. We just returned from taking DS for his 3rd time. Even though he's now 6, he still LOVES it there. He actually gave me a hug while we were in line getting food and told me how much he likes going there.

Like Monty said, Le Cellier is awesome. Decent kids menu. Wonderful steaks. We had the best server we've ever had at the World there this weekend, too. So nice, so good. I mentioned that I was taking home the last pretzel breadstick, and she came back with three more breadsticks in tin foil, threw in the one on the table, and placed them all in a bag for us.

We do like Hollywood and Vine at the Studios, even though it gets so so remarks. We've always had decent food. I strongly recommend NOT going to Mama Melrose's. We had a terrible experience there last week - worst ever table service experience. For counter service, we actually ate twice last week at Pizza Planet b/c my son loves it. It's actually not bad. The first time, though I got a caprese salad, and it was very sub par.

At the MK, we enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern. It's served family style. Very yummy. For counter service, we also like Pecos Bill's and Columbia Harbor House.

At Epcot, we had a good and different counter service experience at Sunshine Seasons in The Land. While they do have Asian food, they also have sandwiches, etc. We were trying to drastically minimize burgers and fries this time, and so this was a wonderful change.

You mention that you're not big on BBQ. Not 100% sure what you mean, as to me being a resident of western NC, BBQ is pulled pork BBQ served with sauce and a spicy slaw!! Even so, I still recommend Flaming Tree at Animal Kingdom. You don't have to get a rack of ribs. In fact, both DH and I got a BBQ chicken salad. It was a decent sized salad topped with chicken that had BBQ sauce on it. Not heavy in any way. We had some of the worst pizza ever at Pizzafari.

Sorry, forgot to add that we will be there for either 11 or 12 days and we're going to check in on the 4th of December, so it should be nice and light.

Boma's definately out if you dont' like exotic food. Mainly african cuisine. We have enjoyed Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier, Cape May's Cafe for the New England Clambake. We like Tony's in MK. Brown Derby, San Angel for Mexican and Mama Melrose is good too for Italian. Those are some of our choices each year.

I've never been to the 50's cafe, but on our last Disney, we went to the Sci Fi dinner and it was SO much fun! I think especially for you children's ages, you guys would love it! The food isn't too crazy; it's simple, yet fun.
