I have been hearing alot about the WDW college program however I am still unclear on the whole thing I am currently a student enrolled in community college and my career interests are
definitely leading me to become part of Disney's Imagineers. If somebody would be so kind as to explain to me what this is and how I may enroll it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

The College program is a wonderful way to see if working for Disney is for you. I did the CP two years ago. loved it! I guess not everyone loves it, but it really is what you make of it. You work in a role that most likely will not have anything to do with your major, especially the technical things like engineering. You can take classes, I didn't so I cannot tell you about that really. There are tons of great websites out there dedicated to the CP.
Disneyalumni.com, wdwcpinfo.com, turkeylegboy's site....and of course the official site, wdwcollegeprogram.com. I know i really didn't answer your question too well, but if you have any specific questions, ask me. Or just browse those sites...they are great.
Have a great day.

Thank you for your response I did however have a few more questions? Where exactly is WDW college located or is it more of a program offered in different places. Can you enroll and do 4 years like a regular college and do you already have to be a junior or senior in college or can you just go right into it out of High school?

It's not quite "WDW College" but more a "WDW College Program". It's a 6 month internship in florida where you work in various roles as a cast member. It's 95% working and 5% attending seminars. Although work may seem humdrum, there's plenty of experiences and transferrable skills you can pick up from working at WDW. You can network your way around the company and see what the company has to offer. You can learn business skills and enhance your communication skills with guests. Plus you can learn how to deal with difficult situations. These are just a few things that you'll experience when you attend the CP.

As for enrollment. You'll need to check out the official website to see if they'll be visiting a school near you. If so, jot down the date and make sure you attend the meeting on time. Show up in business attire and make sure you show them your disney matieral. From there you can interview and then wait and see if you're a CM.

If you're hired you'll be staying at Vista Way, a couple of miles from Epcot. From there you'll live in the apartment complex for 6 months or so and get all the benefits of being a cast member. With that in mind you'll be working/playing/living in WDW. It's a great experience but it truely depends on what you make of it.

If you have any additional questions feel free to ask :) It's a great program!

I noticed that my community college is included however had already held interviews back in April do they hold interviews once a year or will I be able to do this in the fall as well. Also is their a chance to stay within the program throughout college possibly even making way into Imagineering? Once again thank you for yopur response!

Also one more question, I have completed one semester so far pulling off fairly average grades do you think that would qualify me or should I go for another semester and tighten everything up a bit?

I believe they do seminars every sememster. But I'm not 100% sure if they do the same schools each sememster. Just keep an eye out for them again during fall. Hopefully they'll come back around again.

As for your GPA, I believe you should be in the B range and you'll be fine. You can check with Angelique or Turkey Leg Boy for the complete answers. they're college reps and they know all the nitty gritty details of the program :).

In my school the person has to have at least a 2.0 GPA to do the College Program.

I am also a Campus Rep at my school and I am getting ready to go back on my second College Program.

you have to be in good standing with your college.... usually a 2.0 gpa...

they interview twice a year... usually near the months of april and october

there are two programs for the regular internship...

they are the

Fall/Spring programs and the Fall/Spring Advantage programs... the only thing is... advantage covers the summer, either before your fall program or after your spring... i highly suggest the program! i left prematurely for personal reasons, and i am dying to go back... which is hard to do.

i would love to answer any of your questions! it is a GREAT opportunity! you can email me if you wish...

Best of luck!
