WDW Changed Opinions?

I enjoy sitting down and eating at nice restaurants while I'm there. I used to hate to stop to eat a meal for over 15 minutes, I was all about rides, rides, rides. I still move pretty fast, but I love sitting down and eating a meal and having a nice drink.

Completely agree with this! When we lived in Ohio, we made one trip for one week every year, and tried to do as much as possible. Now that we live in florida and are AP, we really appreciate slowing it down and enjoying the parks for what they are, not just what ride we can get on next.

Oh this is the dream! Do you enjoy living in FL?

It's a product of park popularity, but also a failure to expand and update what they have.

EPCOT is maybe 60% utilized and DHS is about 50% utilized. AK hasn't received a meaningful update since opening and MK is ultimately too crowded due to the failure to expand and enhance the 3 other parks.

I agree! That's why I'm excited with the changes coming to DHS, AK, and Disney Springs. I'm really curious to see how it will change touring patterns and crowds. I know MK will always be a crowd favorite, but I have to hope that significant improvements to AK and DHS, as well as unique dining at Disney Springs, will move people away from MK, especially at night.

I feel like Disney knows this and I hope they will pull out all the stops at DHS and the night show for AK. They should realize that the success of MK rests in their development plans.

I used to love Ellen's Energy Adventure.. But lately.. It's been so badly maintained that its unbearable to get on.

I have the same problem. I've been angry with the Ellen/snake scene first not working well, then being taken out. And on my last trip a couple weeks ago I noticed that the final film, where Ellen gives the correct "brain power" answer, is just in horrible shape - dark, splotchy, thousands of flecks of dirt. A completely lame ending to a once great attraction.

I used to think it was silly to pay the big bucks to stay on property when you could get a decent room nearby for $40 a night. Then I stayed on property for the first time, and I was hooked. Yeah, it kills me to spend up to $200/night for a moderate. But that extra value of staying "within the magic" is completely worth it to me.

My opinion on nighttime shows and parades has changed. During my high school years I didn't find it necessary to watch parades or nighttime shows, because that was prime time to go on rides with a shorter wait. Then at the end of my senior year I saw Wishes from Main Street near the partners statue and I became obsessed with it. A trip to Disney isn't complete for me now without Celebrate the Magic/Wishes, Festival of Fantasy, and Fantasmic. :)
