Don't know much about discounts at Fort Wilderness, they don't often come up on MouseSavers and other places that post discounts. You might be able to get a slight discount with AAA or an Annual Pass.

AS mentioned by Rob, you can get an AAA discount during non busy times of the year, MAYBE.

Annual passholders can get discounts as well.

Generally Disney has no problem keeping FtW full however. With 10 people allowed per campsite, and either 2 tents or an RV + tent per site, it is the least expensive place to stay for a large (4 or more) or multigenerational family group.

What people have problems getting are the partial hookup sites (electricity, water, cable, no sewer) since it has become geared more towards RVs since the early 90s. Only 2 loops out of the entire campground are for tent/ pop up campers.

THERE IS NO DINING PLAN for Ft. Wilderness. If you camp, you dine out or cook on your own.

I think it saves us $1000 over the cost of a value resort. :)

I'm not sure what you meant by no Dining Plan at Fort Wilderness...

If you meant the Dining Plan, you *can* book the DDP with your reservation. (I just went on the WDW website and was able to price out a package with a campsite and the DDP)

If you meant there was a lack of restaurants (either in general or on the Dining Plan), you have the Meadow Snack Bar for Snacks and Quick Service meals (though selection is limited), and for Table Service you have the Trail's End buffet serving all three meals (in fact, that's one of the better-value on-property buffets when paying out-of-pocket)

I have a reservation for 5/7. Before we go we are planning on buying season passes. When we buy our passes will we be able to receive the pass-holder discount when i pay for the remainder of the balance (paid the deposit when I booked)? Or do you have to have the pass when the reservation is made?

I know the best way to get an answer is to call, but I wanted to see if anyone on here knew the answer.

Unless you want to book your trip online, you don't have to physically have an Annual or Seasonal Pass (or even the voucher for one) to get the associated discounts. Just tell the CM on the phone that you have one, and they'll check to see if there are any discounts available.

You'll want to do this *before* you send your final payment, otherwise as it becomes a matter of trying to refund you the amount you'll have over-paid.

Yes there is..you can do the DDP while staying at the campgrounds.

Granted you can cook on your own at your site but you also can get the dining plan.
