all power to you have a great time! i myself could never go with out my kids my fav. thing is to look over and see there faces as we look down main street toward the castle for the first time. i am way to much of a talker to go by myself anyway they would cart me off as a loon for talking to myself :hammer:
but minus that i do agree it is nice to be able to decide what you want to do and see with out having to ask the people your with . when ever i decide to go on vacation i always get allot of people that invite them selves along. my best friend, neighbor, and sister all did it to me this coming trip and it was a pain because then you have to change all your plans cause they want to go somewhere you didn't or vice versa so enjoy yourself do what you want and have a blast

I never would have done it without kids when they were younger, but now that they've grown up, I would love to go alone at least once just to experience it all my way. DH and I have been 4 or 5 times together without kids, but the idea of seeing in all by myself really uintrigues me (especially if he's willing to pay for it!)

So it seems that I, a 28 y/o soon-to-be attorney is the only Disney fan in my group of friends (inc. my gf). everytime i want to go we end up not going because someone complains about cost or time or goofy scaring them when they were a kid.

I finally had enough of everybody and booked my trip to Disney last May solo for 5 days. To tell the truth, i was nervous about going as i did not know how traveling to the world would be as a solo traveler, although i've travelled through other parts of the world alone.

Turns out I had a great time. Like everyone else said, I did what I wanted, ate where I wanted, noticed things I never noticed before.

Yes, once in a while I got a little lonely, but that faded quickly. why?

Here's a secret about travelling alone to Walt Disney World:

People talk to you.

Strangers, Cast Members....It's strange. I got into random wonderful conversations with people I have never met before. People are so open and friendly. I went on RORC with this young couple (my age) where it was the girl's (and my) first upside-down coaster. We loved it so much we did it again! I befriended my safari driver on Kilimanjaro Safaris who then took me out on a second ride without waiting in line! I chatted up the chefs at Jiko who let me try some foods without ordering!

An entire other side of the World opens up to you that way.

And of course, you could ride Soarin' and Mickey's Philharmagic over and over...

And the result? I'm thinking of doing it again in May.

What I enjoyed when I did the parks alone is that I got to decide which mode I was going to be in. Crazy Disney geek mode, in which you have to ride everything...or just walk around the park people watching and really observing things you may have missed because you were with a crowd rushing to get somewhere. Taking a leisurely pace, finding a nice shady place to sit with a cool drink in hand and people watching is a great way to pass time in the parks.

Last time I went by myself I was wearing a dress shirt and pants with my lanyard and people thought I was a CM asking me questions. It was kinda cool I guess but got annoying after a while when people starting looking at me funny when I was in line with them

I guess I must be the odd ball! Last July, I went by myself and though it was fun for the first few hours, I got lonely fast. My first visit to WDW was on my honeymoon and not having my husband there to share it with me made me very sad. He always liked the same rides and foods that I did so I never felt like I had to fight for what I wanted to do.

So, a month later, I remedied the situation and my husband and I went together. :D I guess I'm just a sentimental sap!
That makes sense. Aside from my family though, I'm a pretty solitude person and wouldn't be TOTALLY against going on my own, but agree that it's proboly more fun with others.
