WDW at very end of August

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of planning a trip at the very end of August (around the 25-31) and was wondering if it is a good time to go. I know the heat is probably really intense, but I figure that most people are probably getting their kids ready for school. Is this true, or have I just picked a time that everyone also thinks is a good time so it will just be insanely crowded? If anyone has been during this time period, any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The heat is bad, and the humidity worse. Keep hydrated and partially indoors, and you should be fine. The crowds are fairly small at the time, and lines are at a minimum. I have never had any problem with this time of year.

I like this time of year (even though it is hot) and will be traveling the same time as you.

the hours aren't the *greatest*...disney starts reducing its hours beginning in mid August...that's why I'm going August 7-12.

but the crowds are much smaller in the last week compared to beginning to the middle of the month. So there is no need for greatly extended hours.

End of august

Hey...I went at the end of august last year. To me, I didn't really notice much of a difference, and I usually travel to WDW in July. The main difference I did notice was the price!!! I got a room at the All Stars for $49 a night......it usually starts Aug. 25th. Im hoping they have the same promotion this year.....50% off rack rates is something good to me!

Hey there I went the ed of August last year!!! What a great time to g. It was absolutely hot so sunblock, water and common sense are important. The lines werent really long for anything and we had gotten what was called the Fall Fantasy package which included a character or buffet breakfast every morning. Took a while to do the reservations, but for me, my best friend, her hubby and thier three kids it was so worth it!!! Characters every morning of the vacation. Amazing time to go!!! Also please dont forget your priority seating reservations!!! Have a great time!!
