i try to get in races with any m5 i see just cause i want it to crush me. I just dog those cars and one around here drives them like they should be.

makes me quite bitter to see them going the speed limit.

Well, I don't want to bother getting into debates about American vs. German.

In Germany BMW is seen as the 'grandparents' car...like our cadillacs of the 70's 80's early 90's while over here, its marketed as 'the ultimate driving machine'.

In japan, they don't think much of Lexus, the the U.K. small cars made by ford are pretty hot.

I was just responding to your comment on the assumed quality issues at an Alabama plant for the ML line of vehicles. Then Rob pointed out the cars made in South Carolina.

All I am saying is that if the ingrediants and recipe are to 'print' and reliable, then any chef can make the dish.

But then again, I'm a Ford man and therefore in the minority on most of these car discussions. :)

Man! They had to do this when I am unemployed and can't get down there! This is personal! Somebody will pay!

Anyone got an extra ticket to Florida? : )

Is this a one time only thing or do they do this every year? I have a Saab now (left over from when I WAS employed). I needed it because I sepnt so much time on the road. I would love to see how it stacks up to the Beemer. I also want to know how it compares to the CTS - they are both on the same platform.

Oh, and not all VeeDubs are made in mexico. Passats are made in Germany, as are SOME of the GLX Jettas. And remember, some off the new Mercs are being co-developed as Chryslers.

They have an XLR there - to drive? That's it - I'm hitchhiking!

Lexus is nonexistant in Japan... however, the cars are there... Toyota Altezza (IS), Toyota Soarer (SC), Toyota Aristo (GS), Toyota Windom (ES), Toyota Celsior (LS), Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (GX), Toyota Land Cruiser 100 (LX), and the Toyota Harrier (RX).... that's the US Lexus Lineup as it is known in Japan.

and UK fords ARE hot.... Cossie...'nough said

I am assuming the quality of workers are better in Germany for mechanical items such as cars than they are here in America.

In Germany, you can still get yourself a nice hand built engine. I don't know of an American company which does that. You might know.

GTIs are made in Brazil. Passats, Touaregs, Phaetons, and R32s are made in Germany. New Beetles are made in Mexico. Most Jettas are made in Mexico (except the higher end ones).

What about the Golf though...

MKT the old beatles are still made in Mexico are they not?

AMG = mercedes handbuilt...= (according to the dealership) less problems with the engine/less repairs on average.

For cars. . .no. But I have heard of a place called GEAE (General Electric Aircraft Engines) located in Cincinnati that makes some pretty good engines.

I am not sure about engines for cars like the GT40. Based on production levels, I would assume that some of the early versions were 'hand-made'. What are the Eurpoean Fords like?

Mexico stopped making them last year... I think they still may be made in Brazil..

and AMG... good cars, but if I have to go with Benz, I'll take Brabus

Brabus though is not in house (yet) with AMG you still keep the warranties and can get a 7 year one if you want like other Mercs.

I have to go check the specs on an M5...Audi has made some rockets recently, but their rep in the past hasn't been so hot I've heard. Don't know much about cars.

What about Lorinser or Renntech?

Oh, in England, they have we dreams for some of the Fords there (they don't product them here...looks like our hatchbacks modified).

i heard that the ford focus in europe is all wheel drive, that would sell big time here if they threw a turbo in it and sold it as an SVT car. I sure as hell would buy one.

Is that why Pilate washed his hands of the whole thing? History provided the distraction for Brabus but the ego's in the crowd still called out to crucify the Lamb.

Yes, Judd, that is exactly why. :D
