Permits were filed today for the Waterstar Orlando Project, and although this is not a Disney project it will will be right up against AK lodge. Looks like it will be a mix of apartments and retail.
Is all that traffic using one access? That would be a mess in the morningPermits were filed today for the Waterstar Orlando Project, and although this is not a Disney project it will will be right up against AK lodge. Looks like it will be a mix of apartments and retail.

You want to stop building...places to live and shop?…dear lord…stop building this kinda crap
The giraffes already enjoy Texas Blossoms at Texas Roadhouse every Thursday. Will this affect the animals at the hotel in anyway? I guess I mean by noise, lights at night, etc.
Have you ever been to Orlando? You want to stop building...places to live and shop?
Wow, surprised Disney didn't purchase this land to prevent others from building so close. Did they own the land originally then sell it off?

Can they not do this? I like feeling like I'm in a "different world" when I'm on property and seeing real world property is disillusioning.
Absolutely zero reason why they did notI doubt it, since they're on the other side of the parking lots and the actual hotel buildings from this development.
It still sucks, though. Disney should have kept a buffer of undeveloped land all around their property.
I’m shocked DVC owners haven’t complained about this.Wow, surprised Disney didn't purchase this land to prevent others from building so close. Did they own the land originally then sell it off?

There’s really no way to look at this as a “positive” did wdw travelers. Putting more crap - and that’s all this js - In a town that is notorious for overbuilding is never a plus.
slamming it next to DAKL isn’t good either…you want “oasis”…not the sounds of Dual exhausts on the wind.
disney should have really bought that land…so many advantages fo that. More bad management…a Bob specialty
I’m not blaming the developer…and Disney’s entire history in Florida is 100% based on special privileges. That’s historical record.Disney didn't have to put AKL right next to its property line but that is what they chose to do. As for "slamming" next to Disney, that's not the developer's fault. Disney doesn't get special privileges for what's outside its property--that is retained for what's in its property (Reedy Creek Improvement District Act). So now this is even Chapek's fault because he didn't purchase land adjacent to the 27,000 acres that Walt bought. Amazing.
