"Better" depends on what you want. If you want big, fast slides, Blizzard Beach all the way, for sure. Otherwise, it's a bit of a toss-up.

Blizzard Beach's wave pool allows tubes (provided by Disney, no extra charge), so that's cool. Typhoon's wave pool is bigger, has much more deep water and has occasional big waves, which is something you don't get at Blizzard.

The lazy rivers are very similar, but the Blizzard one is better for kids, IMO. It has that sneezing part I hate that delights kids (and our own Magical member, openendedsky :).)

Blizzard has a really nice area for young kids to play in that is completely lacking at Typhoon, but Typhoon has (IMO) a couple slides that are better for your 6-10yo crowd.)

What are you looking for and how daredevilly are your kids??

We really loved the YouTube video of typhoon lagoon...seemed to be more our style. Our 8 yr old son will love either I guess. Just want something laid back and easy going.

Something laid back would definitely be Typhoon Lagoon.

There are some big slides and even a water coaster if you're feeling up for it, but when we go there we take advantage of the tropically themed lazy river and sitting on the beach area by the wave pool. It's very relaxing and feels like you're transported to a tropical island.

If you want something easy going, Typhoon Lagoon is the way to go. :)

TL is so much better (IMHO of course). It has some great slides i.e. Crush N' Gusher, Humunga Cowabunga, but it also has an amazing lazy river which is very relaxing and takes awhile to get around the whole park, as well as Shark Reef where you can snorkel across a "lagoon" and swim with sharks and other sea life (totally safe!!). Plus it has plenty of places to sit and just relax.

There is A LOT of stairs in blizzard beach. Be prepared to hike up for any rides on the mountain unless you plan to take the ski lift every time (more time consuming in my opinion).

But for laid back as you said def. typhoon lagoon. Nice and peaceful with that amazing tropical theme.

Like I said, they're both great for being laid-back and easy going...both have beaches and a lazy river.

Blizzard has a bunch of things for grade-school kids to do, like walk on ice floats and stuff. It also has the big, bad slides. :) But it has relaxing stuff, too.

Typhoon has the shark thing.

Other than that, it really comes down to theme. Blizzard has the whole winter-in-summer thing and Typhoon is more tropical.

You really can't go wrong!

We prefer TL to BB but we have to agree with the prior comments. BB is definitely better for kids, TL is better for laid back. Kinda expensive to just lay back but the wave pool and shark reef make our TL excursions worthwhile. BB has a multitude of activities for all ages and is more involved for those enjoying "rides".

Blizzard Beach gets the thumbs up from my 7 year old. He absolutely loves the Ski Training Camp and also tried out all the slides with Slush Gusher being his favourite and Summit Plummet proving to be a bit too much for him. The Downhill Double Dipper got a big thumbs up too.

While at Typhoon Lagoon, he also tried all they had to offer with repeated rides on Crush & Gusher and Humunga Cowabunga. It's not that he doesn't like Typhoon Lagoon, he just prefers Blizzard Beach.

Don't forget to treat your son to the ice cream pail and some mini doughnuts.

Agree with prior comments. BB has way more activities. TL is more laid back. We enjoy TL more because we like using it as our semi-down day. Kinda expensive to be a semi-down day, but Shark Reef and wave pool make it worth our time. Really depends on how you plan on using the day. Uptempo = BB, Beachbum = TL.

I agree with the above comments. If you want fast rides, go to BB. The only ride I go to TL for is the crush n gusher. Kid area at BB is far superior, especially for the elementary age kids. As far as relaxation goes, I don't see a difference. I have annual passes and sometimes my family doesn't go in any rides except the lazy rivers. They are both great in my opinion. But I do miss river country!

Question--We are taking someone with mobility issues and we've never been to a WDW water park. We have the water parks & more option this time around and will be doing BB and TL. Is there somewhere they can just sit with their feet in the water or isn't that deep they can just relax in while the rest of the family does their own thing? Thanks!

Thanks for all the great feedback...this site is amazing and I certainly favor it over some of the others. How does the ticket situation work? We want to have the ability to go to both at anytime while we are there.
