Hey everyone. Gonna be at POFQ the first week in December. From the information Im finding online it Looks like the watreparks are open for our visit. Has anyone gone in the colder months? Was it okay? I know the pools are heated and Im sure Ill be in evernight but The Entire Day at The Waterparks seems like it could be a bit cold. thanks, Todd

It all depends on what you're used to. For most people it's not too cold. Also, Blizzard Beach will be the only water park open in December, Typhoon Lagoon will be closed until March.

I am a huge fan of the pools and the water parks on vacation and when I went in December I did not get near either. It was way too cold even during the day. I hardly got to even wear shorts.

It depends on which part of the month. My friend and I froze at EPCOT on December 16th but when my parents came down for christmas I spent a few hours every day at the pool. But it got really cold a few days after christmas. I loved telling all my friends back home that I was laying out while they were freezing. That's why my family is going back again this christmas.

If you'd like to know what range of temperatures you can expect, here is the National Weather Services historical data for Orlando....

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/mlb/climatology.html

Just scroll down and put Dec. 2007, then Dec. 2006, etc. into the drop down menu and you can see what the actual highs, lows, precip, etc. were for each day of the month (one can choose any month and year).

We're going to be there 12/7-12/13.... Yippee! (We live in Upstate NY so whatever weather we get will seem balmy to us and I'm sure we'll be in the water lots!).

I guess it really does depend upon what you are used to. I am always in shorts and find it really comfortable when we go every Christmas.

We typically get in the pool most nights, but I did find out the last time we went that most people in the pool were from Canada (like us), the Northeast U.S. or the U.K.

One night, a girl from Brazil who was poolside, told us that she had long underwear under her jeans. It was about 70 degrees that night. :-)

Not too bad

We have been twice in the first week in December (and lived there for a bit also) and are going back this year. The temps aren't too bad for the pools....the hop back to the room is pretty short and you aren't exposed to the breeze for very long. It can get very cold if you sit out for too long. I would say there is only about a three hour period where it is warm enough on the average day.

We usually swim and then jump into the the hot tub for 5-10 mins to get toasty right before heading to the room! :ROFLOL:

To recap: I am from Wisconsin, and love the cold, and would find a waterpark too cold for about 2/3 of the days in the first week fo December, but love the pools.

Have a great trip!

The day we went to Typhoon Lagoon in March of 2007 was only in the 60's and the place was nearly empty (which was nice). The water was still beautiful, although getting out was pretty nippy! The only reason we went on that day is that it was closed for refurb up until the day before we were leaving, so we couldn't be picky!

We've used the pools in December......really a guess what the weather is but as long as you are in the water it is OK. I would suggest a bathrobe for the walk back to the room.

We've gone the first week of December for three years now and will be going again Dec 2nd-9th this year:sohappy: and we've allways gone swimming. Generally the pools are heated so they aren't that bad, it's when you come out, you sometimes dry off really quickly. Of coarse we're from NE so we're used to the cool weither. One night we came back from the parks and it was in the mid 60's and we went swimming, only one's in the pool. All the lifegaurds were bundled up but we had a great time.
