I'll be in the minority and suggest you might very well enjoy, particularly, Blizzard Beach. We've been taking my son since he was about 2 1/2, and there are times he prefers BB to the four big parks. When he was 2 1/2, loud noises indoors bothered him, so we figured a water park might work great, and it did. We go every trip now (he's 5) and he still loves it. A few things we enjoyed at BB with our 2 1/2 year-old.
1. BB has two kids areas. One (Tike's Peak) is designed for kids up to 7 or so. It has four different kinds of kid-perfect slides, a shallow splash area, sand to play in, and plenty of wooden shelters (four poles and a roof) to set your stuff under to get out of the sun when you rest (lounge chairs, etc.). Plus, it's off the beaten path, and no teenager would be caught dead their, so it's quiet -- perfect the little guys.
2. The family raft ride (Teamboat Springs) is the best I've been on in. You can all ride together, the ride is long, and you don't hae to carry raft up with you (conveyor belt). My son loved this from the first time we rode, and we must have ridden 6 times that first trip. Every trip since then, we've bought the picture of us from the end of the ride, and I don't think my son has a bigger smile in any other picture we've ever taken.
3. The tube slides (Runoff Rapids) have a double tube option, where you can ride with your little one. The logistics aren't obvious, but the CM's will help.
4. The wave pool is gentle bobbing waves (unlike TL's crashing surf) and our son loves just floating in his life jacket (which they'll give you for free).
5. The second kids area (Ski Patrol Training), which is designed for roughtly 8-12 year olds, has a couple of things our little one liked then and still does. He's kind of fearless, though, so your results may vary.
6. For Teamboat Springs and a few of the more adult slides, there's a chairlift you can take to the top. The lift line can be long, but when the alternative is dragging or carrying your kid up, it's a good choice. We usually use the chair lift in the early monring, when there's no crowds and the line is short, and then take a couple of trips walking up later.
7. Crowds have never caused us to leave, even in the dead of summer. We arrive first thing in the morning, and go until about 2 or so. By then, the child is tired, so we usually head back to the hotel. Once we went back to BB near closing (after nap) and that worked great as well.
So if you think your child would enjoy it, you might want to give it a shot. It is easier, however, if there are two adults, for a couple of reasons. First, you can switch off and somebody can do the larger slides while the other takes the child in the wave pool, lazy river, kids area, etc. Second, even in the kid's areas, there are couple of slides where it can help to have somebody walk the child to the top of the slide and have somebody else positioned at the bottom.
