Water park tickets and APs...

Can anyone tell me what the discount is for water park tickets when purchased by an AP holder? We're trying to plan and I don't want to have to call to find out. We're upgrading to APs when we get there but we'd like to plan the budget part of it right now.

Disregard. I called and they weren't aware that AP holders get discounts on water park tickets. So I dug deeper in the help section on the website and lo and behold:

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Parks

  • $4 discount off the regular admission price for Guests ages 10 and up
  • $3 discount off the regular admission price for Guests ages 3 to 9

That doesn't seem like much of a discount. Do you have waterpark on your tickets now? If so maybe hit the waterpark first before upgrading?

Is the premium AP price greater than the price of the standard AP + water park tickets? If not with the PAP you get the water parks and DisneyQuest, not sure if you are a fan but we really like DQ :)

Nah, not really a fan of it. Plus we're only doing one day of water parks, which is about $200 after the AP discount.

Silly question, but is it possible to upgrade your tickets to include the water park option? I just wonder if those tickets would be cheaper if added on to your current ticket, and then you could upgrade to the AP from there (I think). Not sure how all that works, but I agree with the other poster who said that $4 doesn't sound like much of a discount.

What I've done as we have AP's, is buy the AP to the water parks only. It's around $100 and is cheaper than upgrading to the premium AP. Ive found you can only buy it at the water parks.

If you have/buy a regular AP and want to go the water parks you can buy a single ticket at that discount they offer, buy a water park only AP for approx ~$110, or upgrade to a PAP which includes water park admission. Despite the number of non locals that buy APs, they are really meant to benefit locals and get them into the parks. They offer that discount as a courtesy, but would rather you buy the water park AP, or upgrade to a PAP.

If you do have WP&M on tickets, and one of those entitlements is used prior to upgrading to an AP, the only upgrade option would be to a Premium or a Platinum AP, as those both include the water park entitlements. If you don't use the WP&M, but do have it on the tickets, you can apply that price towards an upgrade to a regular AP.

The PAP would be a difference of roughly $600 more than just regular APs. We'll just pay the $200 for one day tickets.

This is exactly what we do too. No desire to go to DisneyQuest so we buy the Water Park AP's separately. This way we can go to water parks any time during the year and we always visit the water parks each trip.

Which water park are you going too? I like BB overall but TL has that AWESOME wave pool :)

We did TL last year so my daughter wants to try BB. We want TL but we figure that we'll try it for her. All me and my son will be doing is any wave pool they have, the lazy river, and any other tame attractions they have.

BB is pretty cool, the ski lift is kinda a fun thing in a waterpark. They have some good family rides as well. We would go to either again as we really loved both but BB a bit more overall.
