Water Park Choice for Kids

Can anybody help me with the choice of which waterpark to choose? Our primary decision is based on having a 2 1/2 and a 6 year old being with us. Which is better for the kids: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?
Thanks

I would not go to either waterpark with kids that young. My daughter is 5 and we are going to wait a few more years. There is just not that much for them to do there, and the adults can't go on the other rides.

Just my opinion, I'm sure you'll also hear the opposing view here.

Hey Alztybrn-I can see you're a little new here. First, welcome to the boards! Secondly, there's MANY MANY posts about which water park is better for kids, feel free to use the search function. There's at least 4 different posts from last year.

We always take the kids to Typhoon Lagoon..... it has a lot of shade, sandy areas for them to play in, a really nice small kiddie part, relaxing lazy river etc. The first time my kids went they were 4 and 7 and we all had a good time. There is also a nice area off to the side of the wave pool where they are mostly gentle lapping waves, except when the big huge waves hit!

Even though it is shady in sitting areas and much of lazy river, make sure littles ones wear shirts and sunscreen.... it is still quite sunny and the Florida rays are strong!

You can bring coolers, snacks etc into the water parks....just no alcohol or glass containers. This makes it nice to have good snacks and drinks available without having to wait in the huge food lines.

Also, bring your own towels.... the line for towels is usually crazy long and the towels are pretty small, plus you have to pay a rental fee. Also, make sure you get to the park early to stake out a good area and chairs.

Have a great time!

I went to Blizzard Beach a few years ago and I would say if your taking kids, I agree with going to Typhoon Lagoon. BB seems to have more "thrilling" rides that kids may not be able to get on or may not ever want to go on. Plus TL has a new ride, so I would suggest that.

We have been to both with our 2 1/2 DD.

I would say that we prefer TL. As other have said, much more shade. Both parks have areas specifically for the little ones.

To be honest, last trip, our DD actually preferred to play in the sand in the TL kids area....
