Water/Mist effects

Just a quick note, I was at the Disney parks and Universal parks the last 2 days....and I'm glad to say that most of the attractions I went to in both areas had FULL fog/mist effects and water effects working.

I don't know if this might be directly due to local water shortages being resolved, or something else, but it did make things much nicer, like in the Pirate ship battle in POTC and Jurassic Park River Adventure at IOA.

small side note, rode on Forbidden Journey for the first time, wow, what a unique experience...far different than I've ever had before, just how the motion of the vehicles goes different places, and the show scenes between the set pieces and the film portions were so seamless!! Brilliant job. Oh, and butterbeer is delicious

Thanks for the report. I believe the Pirates ship battle uses air cannons rather than an actual water effect, but I could be wrong. Unfortunately Disney still refuses to update/fix/turn on water features around the rest of the Magic Kingdom (I'm looking at you, Adventureland fountains.) The geyser effects by the Big Thunder Mountain overlook/exit and the fountain by the Hospitality House courtyard are also culprits.

Actually, on Pirates I meant the fog was prevalent in that scene, not the air cannons. Every time I've been on it recently there was no fog, so it was easy to see the "distant" towers and stuff, now with the fog, the effect is much better

I had NEVER seen the fog as thick on pirates as I saw yesterday in that scene.

At Sea World, I was very disappointed that they had no fog at all on Atlantis both last night and 2 weeks ago when I rode on the big climb with the green light. That was the coolest effect on the ride when it is dark out.

Pirates fog is not a water based effect, it is a theatrical fog, much like what is used for Philharmagic or FoLK. It recently has been working very well.

On a side note -- we're currently in our dry season and water restrictions are tighter. But it's always good to hear that some missing effects are back. :)
