hi
I'm arriving this Sunday the 26th. I tried the garden grocer and it is booked up. I even tried to book it for Friday. I have had a car in the past and we would go to Walmart. We are taking the bus this time. My DH has kidney stones and needs to drink a lot of water. Any suggestions.
Thanks

It will be a little of a walk but you can take the bus to DTD and walk across the street to the HESS station and buy water there at pretty normal prices. You could also pick up a Brita water pitcher before you go to WDW and just filter the tap water or you could take a cab from your resort to the nearest Wal-Mart.

Here are a few other cites that I have found in my planning that also do grocery delivery to the resorts:
www.wegoshop.com
http://shopgoodings.com
www.netgrocer.com

If these do not work search some the disney fan cites and their tips. That is were I found this info. Also, you could pack an extra travel bag, stock it up with water and check in when you fly. Afterwards you'll have an bag for your souvenirs. I have heard that alot of people do that.

Have a great time!

My mom just called the Kissimmee Staples and ordered a 24 bottle case of water to be delivered to her room. I think she said with delivery it was $15 for 2 of them. We aren't arriving until Sept 14, but they still took her order this far in advance.

Front desk at POFQ just said to make sure that delivery is within 2 days of her arrival and that the package needs to be put to the ATTN: "Guest Name".

After check in you can call down to the desk and request that the package is delivered to your room.

On a side note, DW and I just ordered 16oz water bottles from Amazon that have a built in water filter. This way we don't have to carry multiple bottles into the park each day. We hate the taste of the fountain water, and this way it will be filtered out. It will save us a bundle. The bottles are around $7.98 on Amazon offered by a nutrional company in Oregeon. They also had a free shipping coupon on Amazon. So for 3 of them it came to $24.00. We ordered them on Monday AM and received them on Wed. Very quick turnaround for coming to Phila. from Oregon. We also take down a 24 pack of bottles to keep in our room fridge. We just pack it in the empty suitcase that we will use to bring our souviners home in.

I think the Brita pitcher idea is the best. Just pack as many empty plastic bottles in your luggage you think you'll need every day. Is there anything wrong with the water fountains in the parks?

Yeah it smells exactly the same as the sewer drains and it tastes like it comes from the same place too. I got so sick on our 2004 trip from drinking the water.

Yeah, because there was that whole epidemic of water sickness that was going around down there...

I'm not sure if everyone knows about this, but in the developed world municipally treated water is usually treated with higher standards of quality control and treatment when compared to bottled water that was bottled in the area. What is even more interesting the water is typically from the exact same source. There is actually quite a war going on right now in that industry. Now most bottles of water are required to label which municapality they have come from. Aquafina and Dasani so far have complied with the new rules, and have relaballed themselves as Municaple Water.

Drink up!

With the weight problem in America I'm glad we're drinking water instead of soda. Just please recycle. There is quite a bit of energy and landfill being used because of the water bottling industry.

That's why the bottles with the built-in filter make so much more sense.

No trash, no lugging cases of water (or paying a small fortune for them!).

Most of the water in the fountains is pretty cold, so you can get a cool drink every time.

No frozen bottles sweating and making the inside of your backpack wet.

I agree. We took a filtered water bottle with us and filled it with ice at the hotel before we went to the park and had ice cold water for a little while and then we just refilled it at the fountains. It worked great for us.
