As I dig deep into history the advanced moving screens at Universe of energy seem to get no recognition. As it is around 2010 projection mapping on that scale started to become popular beginning at the Vancouver Winter Games opening ceremony. Since then it has boomed and not much longer later was used at both Disney World and Disneyland. But since 2010 the only real advance projection mapping display on that large scale is still Universe of Energy.

It wasn’t really projection mapping. The projected image stayed the same if the cube was rotated or not; it didn’t take into account the angle of each cube at any given time. It was projected assuming the screen was flat.
