During my visit to WDW last week I was camped outside Philharmagic hoping for a preview (which I never got) for a bit...it was during this time I was able to talk to a cm for a short length... He told me there was plans to add a volcano rollercoaster type ride to the old 20k lagoon area...he also mentioned they were planning on adding tarzan themeing to Jungle cruise. Perhaps his most shocking statement he made howeverwas they were planning a 5th themepark...one based on disney villians...he said it would be a darker version of MK and would rival IOA as far as thrill rides. I have never seen any of these rumors mention since I have been readin the boards. ( about a year now)...it seems to me most of the attractions that I have seen come to life..have started as rumors...so how much fact could this be based on?

That CM was just pulling your leg. I proclaim that CM to be full of it.

To them I raise this flag:

think the only one i really never heard before was the tarzan theming to the jungle cruise, but i must say that the volcano roumer was one big roumer once... wasn't it something called fire or bald mountain and based on the film atlantis??? and was that morphing coaster??? either way that really did interest me. and the disney villains park, well that comes and goes with all the supposed possible themes for the next park :)

Perhaps the Volcano rumour is what later became Everest???

Never heard the Tarzan one before either, but the 5th park based on Disney Villians has been around for a while.

CM's love to make it seem like they know everything coming when a guest asks. They aren't telling any of them too much. Unless you know some one higher up.

I can tell you I've heard the lagoon space before and it being a roller coaster. About 4 years ago, plans were drawn up and rejected. Price was too high to do it.

Jungle??? Maybe a nice change, I guess?? If they just add him, he could be the guide in the boat!! LOL!!

Villian park, when I was there they talked that the fifth park would be something that pulled in the older crw. THink that would do it!?

SEEING IS ALWAYS BELIEVING!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I was backstage over at MK yesterday and noticed that they still have a good number of the subs from the attraction....I know the track was removed and all, but does this mean anything? Or are they just holding onto them for auctions and what have you.

Possible. But considering they have the character festival over there, doubt it. But still, it would fit since they have that Ariel Grotto over there.

But as Ive mentioned, Nemo might end up over at LS.

I mean, the rumors were going around for quite some time, of course the walls were up before the movie came out and all but it just fits a lot better in that area, it'd be small, but it'd fit.

The "trough" , not track is still in place at 20K. It is the same ride system at the Jungle Cruise and the Liberty Belle. A "real" boat with a "real" engine and prop/paddel. The Skipper had control of forward and reverse motion of the vessel. It's kindod like a slot car... two posts with wheels on the bottom lie in the trough...hence why you feel the Jungle Cruise bump around as it passes by the lions. All the subs and Generation 1 Jungle boats are in Pluto Park wasting away. They've only moved three subs, two for Castaway Cay, and one for some museum. Much more of 20K still exsists inside the old ride building. Atlantis parts, icebergs, as well as the smell of diesel still reside in the very dark and warm building. I have some pictures of both Pluto Park and inside the building. I'll post them soon. Hope this is helpful...

I thought they closed down the character festival.

I would be very interested in seeing the pics that would be great.

Also, I have read numerous reasons it closed. One was it wasn't popular enough. But I always remember lines. Another was it wasn't handicap accessed. Another was the water was too heavy and was weighing down on the tunels underneath. The last one is just funny because the water is still there.

Do you know why it really closed?

And if they did want to redo something there, the Atlantis Movie might be a good theme. The subs are not far off from the look of the sub in that movie.

All of those rumors were being thrown around the net about 5 or so years ago, but they don't look too likely now. Personally, I don't like the ideas (although I wouldn't mind seeing a Tarzan ride, I don't think the Jungle Cruise is the place for it.)

I had heard rumors years ago that because of AK that Jungle Cruise was going away and I was disapointed. I am glad it is till there, I still love that ride. I hope it stays the same.

And I agree it does not fit with the Tarzan theme.
